I just got a grind rail and I love it. But it's more difficult to do than I thought. A lot of the time the board flie out from under me. I hadn't realized how slippery rails are before:-5: But I'm working at it. So anyone got some tips for someone new to grinding? Oh and I'm mostly trying to boardslide.

I hate boardslides. Learn Noseslides first, then 50-50's.
Noseslides are easy, just pivot fast enough.

Learn back boards first. Its easier to learn those first cause you can see where your going easier. When you learn front boards make sure your looking over your shoulder when you do them.

bs boards are too hard for me.
I started grings on a waxed curb first. I can't skate rails yet.
I think you should try fs boardslides first. Start out with a lower rail first.

f/s boards are way more intense then b/s my man.
They're both really simple, but for starting out I'd suggest bs. you can atleast see clearly in front of you. Not nearly as scary

Thanks for the tips. I find bs easier, I think. That's when your facing opposite to the way that your goingt right? Well anyways I think I'll try noslide then. And I'm just curiuos to know if someone can do a darkslide, just wondering.

it depends on what you want to do, if you want to learn grinds try learning on a waxed curb then move up to rails. if you want to learn slides either front or backside boardslides learn on a rail

Try to always land centered for maximum balance, make sure you ollie as high as the obstacle so you actually get it right, just hoping on is kinda hard. Make sure you always look towards were you going to pop-off. Go farther each attempt :).

Make sure when you ollie, your parallel to the obstacle and your shoulders are straight, and just ollie, grind, lean back a bit, ride away.

Thanks again for tips. I have been practicing a bit on the sidewalk before I got the rail. I could do 50-50 grinds on that.

if you're afraid while doing boardslides put the rail on a slight hill and grind up it
then gradually move it to a less steep hill when you're more comfortable with it

this is how i learn boardslides anyway

and weird i got 50-50s first and nose slides are really hard for me :|
