when i turn on my computer in my room i get a message that pops up and says a file is missing or corrupt WINDOWS/appPatch/drvmain.pbd. and i cant get passed that screen i really need to get into my hard drive at least to get skating footy out or just get my computer back up is there anyway? so if i cant get it back up then i prob. will not be post as much but still post a lot

Yep, that will make your computer start all over again, from the very beginning when you first got it.

I'm not sure what to do but in the future you first of all should've had some virus protection, and all of those stuff, and you should back up all of your important files.

^ sk8boarder0 told me that he uploaded windows and it didnt do anything. but give him windows. i do have all my files backed up and a virus protection program it got thru just i had some stuff that i didnt back up like my whole video that i was editing but i have the raw clips

greenday if he reinstalls windows nothing will be lost... because alll the files are stored on his hard drive... not inside the windows app.. but to be safe just ghost the drive where all your stuff is on then reinstall windows and everything should work fine

Don't re-install your windows if you do not know the proper technique, a word of advice. My friend attempted this and he messed it up even more than it was.

I call it the Blue Screen of death, what he got. I get that pretty often too for some reason?

u should uninstall then reinstall windows cause sometimes it can make it worse to just reinstall it. Just save the footy or all the extra files u want to keep on a seperate harddrive como or a floppy disk (to be on the safe side cause the virus could be a file/databurner) sometimes if u can get the right program before u completly crash ur computer just get a quarantine and put the infected file in it then delete. but if its spyware ur already screwed lol...

oh and if u still got the virus dont fcking log on anything u idiot it could be a keylogger..

the computer never gets passed a black screen like it usally runs fast scans to start the computer then the windows xp screen but it never getts to the xp screen just stops and say that a file is missing

the only shing u can do is unishtall windows xp then reinshtall milleniums or w/e u had b4 then inshtall xp over it. it doesnt sound much like a virus to me. what diid u gets it from and mabey i can scan it to see wht tipe of virus it ish.

i had a really tough virus..went thru my protection and turned it off..and then next thing i know it restarts and boom wont go pass the windows screen..thats where my old computer went..

the best thing to do is to just reinstall windows or get someone who knows what they are doing to install it... its simple as that make sure you ghost your drive tho to ensure you lose no files.

Why has no one told him to run his computer in Safe Mode without Networking to find out what the problem is? And also Re-Installing Windows [A.K.A. Re-Partitioning the HD] WILL take everything you have off of the computer i.e. skate footy. Another thing I would have tried before putting it in the shop would be to try putting in another HD and see if its in the other hardware or the HD itself.
