I've tryed to 50-50 on the curb but i get into it but i just stop
Noseslides i want to do but i dont know how to do them (same with tailslides)
and im thinking of buying a rail so i can do 50-50's and boardslides but i need to know wiether or not you need lots of speed because my ollies suck when im going fast  so any tips would help.

With the 50-50s, either the curb wasn't waxed enough (Or not at all) or you weren't going fast enough.
And when you get a rail, you'll need to ollie high while you are going fast.

well, it depends what you consider a high ollie, and how big your rail is. if you get a small rail like 6" then you dont have to ollie very high. if you get a bigger rail, like 12" you still wont have to ollie high, but you have to ollie higher than 1 ft. you dont really need that much speed as long as you keep it waxed. if its not waxed, you will need to go fast so that you dont get stuck. id recomend learning boardslides first. you should learn 50-50s on ledges before learning them on rails because they are a lot easier and a lot less chance of you getting hurt.

Exactly what he said, I remember learning 50-50s on rails I'd barely overshoot it(acceptable on a ledge) and I just remember my feet going past the rail and my body falling behind it. That was fun.

you will need to ollie at speed to be able to grind....boardslides are definitely better to try on a rail

It's kind of obvious but you need to make sure that your feet are centered on the deck.

Work on doing ollies at a good speed, maybe 2 or 3 good pushes, then learn 50's on the curb. After that do you can go ahead and get a rail if you really want to. Personally I would get a good sized box, make it a fairly high one something you will have to work on getting on and into grinds, trust me it will make your ollies better and get you better at grinds, IMO boxes/ledges>rails.

Agreed.

I can 50-50 a decently high ledge, (about 4 decks) but I have never 50'd a rail.
It's hard for me to keep the balance the whole 6ft. Go ahead and learn them on curbs, ledges, and boxes first.

screw rails, find somewhere where Skaters Skate, and ride their Ledges. My trucks dont like Rails because the kingpin Grinds the most.

You can't really boardslide on a curb.

How high would you (or anyone else) reccomend (sp?) them to be?

In order to grind?

Well everything depends.

A little Zero rail, 1 - 2 decks or higher is fine, for a 50-50 that is.

On a Hand rail, I would say about 5 decks, but I don't know because I've never tried it.

^^^ lol. 5 decks? no. all you have to do is be able to ollie onto the rail. just try it and if you fall, hope that you dont die. and if you dont die, figure out what was wrong and try it again. it doesnt take a very high ollie. just try it on a ledge about the same hight first.

Really?

Damn.

Am I the only one that overrates the hell out of handrails? They look pretty high and scary to me!

50-50s on flatbars are alot harder than your average curb.

You have to make sure you keep your shoulders in line with the flatbar, and lean back a bit when you get off. Its not easy, just practice.

I heard somewhere that in order to do a 50-50, you have to come in at an angle. Is that true? Because I can do 50-50s better if I come in straight at the ledge. When I try to come in at an angle, I end up doing a 90 degree ollie onto the ledge, and just stop once I hit it.

well on hand rails, they angle down. and usually you go somewhat fast and by the time you land on the rail, you are already part of the way down and that makes it just a little bit higher than where you ollied. hope that makes since

I usually go on somewhere in between 90 and 45 degrees, try that find your fit.

if it works better for you to do 50-50s without coming at an angle, then dont. it doesnt make it a different trick. just find out what you prefer and beat the s*** out of people telling you how to skate.

can anyone give me tips on tail/nose slides cause they are kl grinds (my opinion)

TrAnCe

yeah man; Noseslides are a bit like boardslides, except you have to be further away from the rail when you do them. When you go into one, pivot fast so that you dont loose speed, and keep your front wheels low, so that they dont go over the ledge (because then you'll be doing a boardslide!) II'd upload some vids to help you, but .3gp isnt accepted :-(
