i started with weird made up tricks (fun fun fun) like i made up the J-wall where u jump off ure board kick a wall and come back on board... then my first real trick was shuvit... id start with shuvit or ollie...

I wouldnt worry about what trick to start out with yet.....just get comfy riding. When you can skate for a couple of hours and not bust ur ass 5 times...then work on that ollie. or u can play around with tricks on the safety of your own carpet....Welcome to the stuntwood way of life mate!!!

practise olliein stationary, so u dont break any bones or woteva. wen u practise movin just try on flat land with no obsticle's. then wen u feel like it try and jump stuff.

yeah just start with an ollie stationary but try it moving at the same time so the first you make it moving you dont falll wicked bad. then just try shuv-its and kickflips and stuff of that sort

Well, After you get good at riding around, try riding off curbs if possable. And try to powerslide, gota love those. Powerslide was my first trick (if you consider that a trick) all you do to become familer with it is go on a smooth road, and get a steady speed (not too fast and not too slow) then put your front foot onto the nose, lean alittle forward on the nose (little less presure than a nose manual) then take your back foot (which should still be on the tail) and swing it kinda fast in the direction your toes are pointing. (regular: right, goofy: left) than once it does a complete 180 stomp your back foot (which is now forward) down. You may want to become familer with riding switch. After you get it down, try sliding your wheels on the ground, which makes it harder cuz it slows down the force that the board turns. The pathetic thing is I still do these, Ill do a powerslide going counterclockwise (which i think you brits refer to as anti-clockwise) now ill be in switch, then do another anti-clock than ill be regular, (360 powerslide) than do a backside popshuvit. I hear it looks cool when i do it off and onto curbs....

Thanks for reading my boring post :)

Watch some trick tip videos for the ollie. Go out and try those for awhile. Head down to south bank and get some peeps to help you with your tricks. Please don't wear a slipknot hoodie while you are there. I also heard that playstation skatepark has some free instructors for a few hours on saturdays. Those guys could probably help you out.

I feel your pain of starting new, brother. But what I did was just stand around on some carpet and do ollies, eventually I would do the trick where you have your board turned over, and flip it over with your feet and catch it griptape side up. That improved your balance and gets you used to the board moving under your feet when sticking things. I've only been doing this for three days, but if you stick with it, its awesome. Don't get discouraged. Cheers mate.
