I have good and fun days skateboarding about every 3 out of 4 days that I skate on. Usually 1 or 2 days out of the 4 I am skating with my friends.

Within the past few months I get so stressed with kickflips. Kickflips are my favorite trick, and I am locally known for having them down some-what smooth. I love the feeling of landing smooth kickflips, but not I rarely have that feeling.

One sloppy kickflip makes me do another kickflip, and another, and another, and so on and so on. I am getting very frustrated with kickflips in general, and I tried to stop doing so many kickflips for a while, but I just can't do it.

I need advice.

I feel you man. I have tres and nollie backheels smoother than kickflips, or rather I like how they feel more than my kickflips. Really it's all in your mind. When you do one sketchflip, you try fixing it but your not used to this different way of doing it resulting in another sketchflip. And then you keep the cycle going until you either get them back to normal, or take a break from them for a few hours or a fewdays. Today was the first day I could skate since last thursday and my kickflips were shit. I could nollie flip/heel, sw heel, tre, and nollie back/front heel. It's proably just because I was skating new shoes that tricks like kickflips, are just so stubborn for me, they take me a while to get back on lock.

Wow dude. Nice bag of tricks to have down consistent.

My Kickflips are my best trick. And when you do have one of those tricks, that are your nicest, you get frustrated.

They are good most of the time, but those times that they're not, you feel a giant let down. What I do to get over the slump is just practice different tricks. The other day I had Tre's like butter. They were just flowing.

Today I had absolute crap Tre Flips, they rolled, didn't even stick 1, just garbage, but I had a nice BS Flip today. So I'm even. I suggest trying new tricks, or maybe just tricks you don't do much.

They'll be back in no time and you can be smooth with your kickflips once again.

Thanks man.

I put some tunes on, and that really helped, I rarely skate with music anymore.

Basically I tried a ton of tricks I don't do very often, like nosegrab-boardslides and 50-50's on my flatbar, it was really enjoyable, then I decided to screw around with the occasional kickflip and it was straight-up butter.

Thanks guys.

kickflips were my favorite trick for a loooooooong time

and if i didn't get 5 perfect kickflips in a row, i'd get pissed, like, crazy pissed.

then i just started doing like, switch/nollie stuff. started learning switch 180s and nollie 180s, moved onto sw/nollie flips and stuff.

and now, my kickflips are better, because i don't concentrate so so much on them.

so, i guess i'm saying, try other tricks, that aren't kickflips.

As the great Anthony Scalamere said in this months TDS "Every skater has his own form of OCD..." This is yours, though I can deffinately relate even though I've got a fast and hesh style I can't do a trick that isn't perfect and be okay with it... I have to keep trying until I can try no more, then I cry. Skate or Cry holms.

I would be afraid that I would land on my Ipod and crush it or something.

If you have an Ipod mini, it's like impossible for them to break from hard falls and stuff. Mine recently broke, but not from a fall, it was like indestructable.

I used to have heelflips perfect. Every go. Off everything. Anytime. NOW it's a completley diferent story. You ask me to do one and I most always land in primo or upside down lol. Insane. My favourite trick right now has gotta be frontside flips or switch heels. I'm so stoked on my switch heels cuz I used to be like, I can't even flip it what the hell. And now I'm popping em proper high it's sick!

Slyde, what I did to get used to riding in it was just choose a day and rid the WHOLE day in switch. You have no idea how frustrating that is man :P
But I stuck with it even when I was throwing my board about lol. And now I can ride in switch like nothing I just gotta get the tricks down. And I'm flipping switch f/s flips now to :D Need jump higher and land on it but I'm getting there :)

i sucked at kickflips. so i just focused on other tricks like shove its and 180s. after i got those down i tried to perfect on ollies and shove its instead of kickflips.
oh but my ollies got worse as my skateboard got crappier so thats why i cant pop to high so now i have horrible ollies

I shattered my mini skating and my mate smashed 3 nanos skating. If you skate with ipods be prepared for them to break.

Off topic but Blind Sheppard are you from the Newcastle in Staffordshire or the one that isn't? Newcastle-upon-Lyme or Newcastle-upon-Tyne is it? lol
