Kinda Funny

Lately, Ive been going to my local skateshop alot. I know some of the guys there and they all skate and are really chill. Well Lately everytime I go in their there is someones mom their. Like some random kids mom shopping for their kids christmas present. They all say the same thing "Mykid wants something cool". Thereafter they say he likes element and volcom. I usually tell them to get their kid a zero deck because the kid probably think black and pink is cool.I just think its funny how many kids are getting into skateboarding and like how when they are coming in this is what they think is it. Im gonna go on a rant here: Like these kids think clothes are the jist of it. They carry there board aorund everywhere. Seriously why do you need your board at the mall? Also kids are going into skateboarding learning how to kickflip before they can slap around on a mini ramp. I dont know its kinda funny because like when I got into skateboarding we weren't worried about like what clothes we had, just that we were outside having fun just cruising around.

When we started it was because we loved it. Really, we don't see many kids like that around here. And dude, I learned how to treflip before I really ever skated transition.

anyway, the way i see it is because there just in it for the clothes, they'll probably quit skateboarding after a short time

but if they do it because they love it then they'll realise its not about the clothes and just skate

just give it time

edit: mainly kids are learning kickflips before ramps and all that is because not everyone has access to ramps and halfpipes, but everyone has access to flatground

Its just something fred gall said about learning treflips before slashing a mini ramp. Its not a literal translation, what it means is that kids are like skipping the steps. Like kids kickflip before they bomb a hill or have fun.

I still can't slash a mini. It's all personal pref. once you start learning tricks. Myself, I started skating sets and learning mad fliptricks, sw, nollie, etc. Got techier. I can skate rails and ramps, but nowheres near where I could if thats all I concentrated on. My friend Travis kills any rail like no other, but still is decent at fliptricks and ramps. My other friend Mabvuto is ****ing gnar in a ramp. Thats all he does really and he can out skate anyone around here in a ramp. There is no skipping steps, there is just different paths.

bahaha, street skating sucks compared to miniramp monstering. Imo. On the 7th day, god created 3 foot miniramps.. But hey I learnt everything before I did rock to fakies. Learn what you want how you want when you want.
