How was your first time dropping in? What size was the thing you dropped into, what was it you dropped into, etc. Talk about your first time dropping in:-9:

First, you practice on flat ground to get a feel for it and then you just find something with an angle to practice on, and that pretty much where I`m at right now, dropping in on the banks at the local skate park.
I quickly learned that you have to lean forward a lot and just go
But I really have to build up some courage to try it on the ramp...

I tried a four foot and couldnt get it, so I found whats called a "wave". its a ramp which starts from the ground and gets bigger, so you move up as you go along.

I HATE dropping in with a passion.

Always been afraid of it, I just can't seem to get it.

Maybe it's because my friend broke his nose dropping in right in front of me?

First try on a 4 ft like 4 years ago. Way easy bro. Just lean forward.

My friend broke his arm dropping in on a 8ft ramp the first time he had ever tried. After that he never really got any better at skateboarding and never learned how to drop in. Now hes a mechanic and doesn't skateboard anymore really.

I tried it on a little 3 foot thing. I didn't lean forward, manualed down and my back wheels got stuck in a crack. I went flying and slammed on my knee.

That was years ago and my knees still swollen up. I didn't go to the doctors until a few months ago when it started hurting again. They think I snapped a tendon or something, and seeing as I keep falling on it its never fully healed, so I've still got an enflamed tendon.

I didn't have the confidence to do it again for a year or so, and my skating didn't really progress. The next time I tried it I did it easy, so I took it onto a 6 foot and did that as well.

mine was on a 3.5 foot mini, I got it first try I think. I loved how it felt, man I miss that mini.

First time I dropped in was on a halfpipe, probably about 8 feet tall, just up to vertical. My buddy, who drove me out to the ramp, said we weren't leaving until I at least tried it. The first couple of times I slammed coming down the wall from not staying compressed. I eventually made it after maybe 4 or 5 tries. On the first attempt my knees were knocking, and I was freaked out. My buddy gave me good advice and said "the longer you sit up there over-analyzing it, the more likely you are to slam." He was correct, as I found out, lol.

FWIW, I learned to axle-in before I learned to tail-in...

I learned how to tail-drop in, axle drop, and suicide(starting with your wheels past the coping) all on a 4 foot mini...really you should learn rock to fakies, pivots, and pumping first.

Mine was about 5 years ago in my neighbors backyard 5 foot mini. I could already pump on it good i just never dropped in. My friend just told me how to do it and i did it.

on a pipe? i've yet to drop in on one. i tried a 6 footer once or twice a while back and couldn't get it. then a friend dared me to try a 16 footer and i broke my arm on the second try. only a few weeks ago i tried again, on a 4 footer, and i couldn't do it. i also hate pipes with a passion.

a ramp on the other hand, one that you roll into, i have no problem with it. first one i ever tried was about 9 feet and i found it easy.

a 4' mini at modern...it was pretty fun...it's quite a bit easier IMO to drop in on a smaller board; i kept trying on my 34x10" poolboard, but kept failing...then i tried my habitat board and got it almost right away
