I dont know if anyone on this site has noticed that it is falling apart. there used to be so many people posting and now if you post a thread than you dont seem to get a response. I do not know why people have stopped signing on but it is getting ridiculous. The most members i have seen on in the last month is about 20 at the most and that is very rare. There have been times where there have only been 3 people online. Maybe people do not have time to get on anymore but if anyone has any suggestions on how we could get some of the old people to come back or to get some new ones or both would be cool. Just syaing though...

we're working on it...
this has been a big subject in the mod area so if you see one of us make a thread, post in it as we're trying to make the site better.
here are a few:
awards (http://www.ramprage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32966)
bands (http://www.ramprage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32775)
member of the month (http://www.ramprage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32684&highlight=member+month) (watch out for december's)
myspace (http://www.myspace.com/ramprageforums)
use the media center instead of linking to youtube
submit things for photo of the day
etc.
we need support from members. i remember a time when people would try to get their post count up and we encouraged them not to do so as it didn't matter. now, it seems we have to encourage people to post more so we don't die out and get overtaken by those "other" skate forums.

RR died a long time ago when everyone (including myself) left.
RR was reborn again when the likes of me (included myself) joined.
But on a serious note, RR is far from dead.

I am really glad to hear that yall are trying. Its just that i really like rr but i just do not ever see that many people on anymore. Like if you look at the record amount of people on it is 579. now the most you see is like 150 at most and almost all of those people are just guests checking the website out and never joining. Lol well any i will leave it to the mods and interns and whoever else is helping the site. But yall should like deff get something really cool that would attract people and bring back some of the people that left. The weird thing is is that the most people ever online record was set not to long ago if i remember the thingy correctly. Well all i am saying is that things are going pretty slow.
EDIT: and to whoever it was that said "who cares" i do because this site should be long lived because it is awesome with a capital A haha

We need more contribution from members too. The news on the home page was last years news, we need new news. We need more complete reviews, rather than having people search our forums (it should be as a last resource).
I'm working on a pros and cons of trucks right now, if anyone wants to help...
sk8boarder0
12-27-2007, 04:51 AM
well maybe for like a sub-sub forum we could have something like a electronic review thing where it would be like its own specific forum to post about electronic stuff like laptop and desktop and other things that we could get other peoples thoughts and feelings on. Something that people would want to join the site to use. I dont know, i am really just giving suggestions that come to my head because rr rocks out loud. Whatever yall are doing do not make anything to do with inlines.. just dont even waste your time with it.... haha

I say the forums go a lot more skating, general, music oriented. Cut the Snowskate, BMX, and Snowboard forums, and make one general, Alternative Sports forum catergory.

I still check some, but I haven't had much access to a computer, so I haven't been around much. I just ordered a brand new motherboard and processor, and once they get here, my computer will be done and built, so I'll be back around more. I've been busy skating, guys, c'mon now.

Now that is a great idea because more people use the skating forum because you can do that year round and almost whenever you want. I think that it should be WAY more into skating. Like start many new forums for stuff people like. All i know is something needs to be done because we need more members to join or for some of the people already hear to come back again. Like noone posts anymore. Maybe even if the mods and interns and staff made a redo some people would come back and check it out and decide they will start posting again and more people will join. Something that will attract people so that they will join the site. We need people because half the people in the trick help forum post there problem and a vid to go with it and never even get a reply because noones uses there time to get on and check. And i already know that alot of people still come and check but more people need to come and populate the site. And to the people veiwing this that are not members do not join if all you are going to do is post pointless stuff and spam the website because that is the last thing needed here.

If this forum is directed at more of a specific interest, I can see it as a haven for a lot more of the "hardcore" elite types rather then, OMG WAT R TRUCKS? types of people.

i mean having a begginers catergory is fine and all but if it was more directed at people who have some serious skill and that arent cocky as crap because the more nice people that join that are good = the more people coming to learn from the good people that are willing to teach them. But yea deffinetly they need to direct the forum toward skating because not as many people snowboard as skate and skating is pretty much the main focus of the site now. It just really needs some new stuff the bring it back!

i'll try to say this as nice as possible.
the reason this forum doesn't have like loads of posts lately and stuff is because people join this forum to ask how to ollie. not to be a dick, but there is a small amount of people that are actually good at skating and have been skating for a few years and actually love it. all of the videos everyone posts are just them in their front yard doing kickflips. all the threads are stupid things like "wh4t d3cK $h0uLd i buYz" or "i$ tH1$ g0oD?" and stupid things.
sk8boarder0

your right. i'm sure it was better years ago, it was awesome when i first joined. only eight months ago i saw the most incredible site i've ever seen and now... something is missing. i'm not sure if it was all the "greats" who just up and vanished but there was an incredible amount of traffic just before the revamp. i remember a lot of great people on when i first joined and now most of them are gone. as glad as i am that i made mod, i feel sad that i took someone's old spot. a lot of old mods were demoted and they unfortunately seem to be too embarrased to come back.

i havent been on very much lately. and thats probably because there really arent very many intelligent threads. everyone on here just posts their beleifs/things to complain about and just flames everyone that says different, and there isnt really any point in arguing with a rock right? and its like dookie said, and that gets kinda old.

Unless you want to kick out all the new users and personally bring back the old ones its not happening. They moved on in life bro. We all wanted more users so we could break a new level of member usage and we payed the price. I still like it though. More users means more matainance which means more messes for me to clean up which at least gives me something to do.

Well not all those years have been top notch. I remember the spring of 2004 saw a whirlwind of young users who got off on terrible stick figure animations. That was an all time low....but then it got better.

i haven't been on in quite a while...first time on in over a month, to be perfectly honest...
truth be told, skating in general has been slow around here due to snow...that, and i'm still awating some wheels from a friend in california (i'm basically calling this a total loss right now, which is unfortunate)...
but the last time i was on a skateboard was like a few nights ago when i took my slalom board 50 feet down the road...no street skating or parks or anything for me in over a month... :(

i havent been on in a while due to starting highschool but man, rampage is like no other forum. There's an actuall sense of a community and i havent found that on any other forum. I'm so glad that one day i found ramprage and decided to make an account. Oh the good times, I remember when i got into an argument with chinaskate and got owned hard. and the epic community forum which consisted of mostly roflcats.com and caturday.com pictures. Ahhh rampage to me is what all forums should be, a community with awesome people.
(cue the corny music)
I can tell ramprage won't die, ideas live on forever...
oh and did i forget to mention slyde blowing a load onto his face to see what it felt like?

I noticed that people started to stop posting aswell and I guess I'm partly to blame seeing as I didn't post for a bit. That was because there was no real threads to talk about though really. I agree with the person who said earlier 'there needs to be new news', I think it was Greenday.

Ive actually been posting more than ever, which you probably dont notice im "RR Crazy". It is winter, not to many people are skating. We gotta focus on school, work and other junk. Once spring rolls around and people start the skating buzz again it will kick it up a notch. Everyone down south or southwest should take advantage of the weather, seriously! The only thing im noticing is people arent posting as many videos. Go out and film enjoy your life. IM 16 now and its kinda like I gotta get good or go home. I dont know. I dont know. Much love.

Actually spring is gonna be even busier for me with schools cause that's when I sit my CSE's. They stand for Centraal Schriftelijk Examen. Nobody here will know what exactly they are but they basically determine if I graduate or not from the HAVO. That's a level of secondary school that takes you 5 years to do, it's the higher than average (the average being MAVO, which takes 4 years). This doesn't mean I'm smarter than other people...it just means I'm more likely to remember more uninteresting stuff which means they try to make the stuff on HAVO harder which really is all the same cause at the end of the day it comes down to remembering crap that your told....It's the way the dutch schoolsystem works, if you've got good memory your set.
Anyhow...getting off track...my point was that I might go poof for a while during april/may meaning that spring for me is going to be the busiest time of the year which quite frankly sucks....cause spring is like the beginning of decent weather again meaning that there is quality time to be spent anywhere but inside.
