if it's flip fkd then chose that over the bones. they're cheaper and better. i guess fkd is just the model name but i'm not sure. if you already have the reds then don't bother buying new bearings though, they'll do you good.

well idk it just says .. FKD(Cursive) F.K.D High Speed Bearings around the bearings. Nothing about Flip. so idk

those are crap. on the website if you click on hardware, then bearings, and scroll down a little more, you'll see the flips. actually, here

http://www.modernskateboardshop.com/products.asp?item=1BFLIHKD0500000&class=1B&brand=FLI

the first link's $1 more than the reds, the second is cheaper. either's better but if you have a dollar to spare, go with the first link.

EDIT: oh, i thought you haven't bought them yet. if the bearings you have aren't one of the links i posted, go with the bones.

fkd bearings are ok. but i wouldnt skate them, i had them gold abec7s and man those where the shiz for 3 days and well the started to bust 4th day of skating.

id go with the bones reds, or some with the the durlin crown in them.

like- lucky, bones, rush, and flip hkd

stuff like those.

as long as i take the shields off i can skate any bearings. for some reason i break bearings more when the shields are on, so i just take them off and they last longer. ironic, but it works for me. or maybe it's just a placebo. no shields looks cooler anyway.

The bearings I had prior to now, I had to remove the shields so the bearings would spin at all. I have the worst luck with bearings. I'm rolling Bones Swiss now, and they've been great thus far...

I don't think he reads posts, just the one above. They suck, just stick to the reds.

Well from the experience I've had with them, I'd have to say Reds.

Use your truck axle to pry the bearing out. That is pobably the easiest way to do it. You can also use a phillips head screw driver, but using the trucks is easier, in my experience.

well, first why are you trying to take them out?

second, do you really NEED to take them out?

i could tell you a few ways of removing bearings, but it really runs the risk of damaging the bearing...so i don't wanna tell you right away

tell please,
i have 2 sets of spare bearings but i still wanna use my old ones until they're unusable but i cant get em out of my old wheels

Well maybe if their not coming out, use WD40 to get them to be slippery or whatever so it'll be easier to pull them out.

if it becomes much more of a problem then you can go to a local skate shop and ask for them to take the bearings out for you. otherwise i do not know what you can do. what may be causing it is, (i do not know if this is right, a friend told me this), do to not oiling the bearings enough they could melt into the wheel. once again i do not know if this is right, a friend only said it

Use a hammer. Thats what i did. I nailed it out.
Dont use wd 40. It will mess it up more.

set teh wheel on its side...take a wooden dowel or something....stick it through the top, so it's resting on an angle on the bottom bearing...then, tap the end of the dowel with a hammer; you might have to put the dowel in different places around the bearing to get it out evenly.

BUT, this runs the risk of denting a shield or two and making your bearings malfunction...so use with caution

i think that is actually true. thats what i believe though, i had to replace a set or spitfires, set of accels, and a set of hubba last year. i just lubed them staight in the wheel, and i noticed the bearinsg kept slidding out after a while of skating them after a few months. and it was a big issue. and the wheels got pretty small too. but i dont lube htem any more and nothign bad is happeneing. except squeeky ness...so gotta lube them when they squeek.

but to get them out you.
use your axle where the nut would be. you take the nut off and use it and pull at a diagnol angle to pop them out. they might be new wheels, when i got a fresh set of rictas it the bearings where stuck in so good i said forget it, and ended up skating the rush bearings that where in them, but eventually after a while of skating then they where easier to come out i could pop them out better r and thats when i stuck my ninjas in. still skating them.

but either use the axle, or a screw driver.

wheels melting? the only time i've ever seen this happen is in fast downhill races, or on luge...more often, on luge

honestly, i have NEVER heard or seen this on any sort of street/trick skating.

so, unless you've got really gummed-up bearings and plan on breaking 50 mph, i wouldn't worry

bear in mind, the big-air competition in the x-games only hits about 45mph

1. Remove wheel from trucks
2. Put wheel half on so that one bearing is on axle
3. Twist wheel and pry out bearing (this step may require muscle. Use your shirt is your hands start to hurt.
4. Repeat for all wheels.

You can use wd-40, but have a bowl of alcohol handy to remove the oil.

To Vans, The bearings moving around the wheel is due to the wheel wearing out, not the lube.

I have only oiled (speed lube) my bearings twice in almost two years and they are stil good as new so I don't think that is the problem.

As for getting them out, well, ages ago when mines was like that I just kept using the truck axle to hook onto the bearing shell and then push down on the wheel so it pulls it out. That's what I did and it worked so I dunno. Sorry if it don't help.
