What are your views and opinions on the candidates? Who do you think will win the whole shabang? Personally, I think that the Republicans will win again. Hillary has no chance of wining. Discuss.

anyone who is ABLE to vote, and doesnt, therefore letting george w bush win again cant say that the president is an idiot coz they didnt vote him out.

my 2 cents. am I right or am I right? :-)

Uh you're completely wrong because the 23 admendment says that no one can be elected president twice.
I think Barack will win, but I'm not sure if I will vote for him.

For a non sexist reason, I do not want Hillary in the white house
I think because of how much experience she has, it won't be a good decision
in a way you can say this might be sexist, but because she's a woman, her decisions might be conservative or not so crazy like a man's decision might be.
and in times of need, when we should be anything but conservative, she probably won't know what to do. Sorry if that doesn't make any sense.

Right now I think I'd like it if Obama won, but I'm not really sure.

Oddly enough I'll be able to vote. Why bother though? It's not like I live in Iowa or Florida. If washington becomes a Red State something has gone horribly wrong..

Poohpooh, all this election shiz. I tell ya, holland (and I think england qualifies too) has it easy....Just the one queen who reigns for a gazillion years and does absolutely nothing except for wave at people, drink tea and read new laws that ministers and shit put together. That plus our parliament keeps promising stuff...but doesn't do anything! so in a way....the goverment doesn't do anything good...or anything bad....all they do is talk about how the country's going to the dogs. But at least they don't do anything drastic like...start wars and shit...our army's way too crap to do something like that. So basically holland just keeps on filling up with foreigners(we're already too full!) and pensions and social security keep on draining away money that we don't have.

wow look at me, that was my first rant that had a political subject. Basically my point is that we don't have any drama politically (presidential elections, presidential scandals, presidential bashing...speeches and shit) we're just slowly destroying ourselves instead!

It does strike me as odd though that the us presidential elections are a worldwide thing...I remember the whole bush vs that other bloke thing in 2000, it was on the news here everyday. And then the bush vs kerry shit 3 years ago....also on the news here everyday. It's like the election of the us leader is the election of like...the emperor of the world or something.

Enough ranting by me....I know nothing about politics whatsoever but I just thought that for once in my 4 years of posting history here I should post something in a political thread.

and the 23rd amendment says you can't serve more than 10 years as president...it says nothing about 2 terms

the 23rd amendment is for the electoral college. the 22nd says the president can't be elected more than twice (nothing about terms or years). if a president resigns halway through his second term, he can't be re-elected a third time, regardless of whether or not he completed his second term. it also states that if someone serves over two years as president (ex. after an assasination) he can only be elected once after that.

What does Hillary Clinton and a vending machine have in common?

They both say "insert bill here"

But Hillary is a douche, i havent researched it that much, but im a republican and i would be fine with Ron Paul or Obama.

Ok here is my opinion. Barak probably will not win. While our country is somewhat tolerabel of races, other countries are not and himself as a representative to nations will not be good. You may say the same for hiary but listen to this, when Hilary gets into office she is making Bill the ambassador to the world. Bill clinton is by far one of the best presidents of the 20th century. Ok he got sucked off by a heffer but still he made our deficit to 0. COuntries love BILL. If hilary wins people will like us again. Barak doesnt know what he is doing, he ran illnois and did nothign radical, he wrote a book about hope, hopes which he probably will not fullfill.

No Almost, so far from what I've seen in polls, James Buchannan and Warren G. Harding is said to have been the worst president we've ever had.

The only reason why people say Bill Clinton and George W. Bush is cause' not alot of people remember or know who the other presidents are they only focus on the president we have right now and/or the recent ones.

Well that doesn't mean he was the best
ever heard of Abraham Lincoln or George Washington?

giantsfan7791

polls are what non-educated people think are the most famous presidents. it' shard to argue that lincoln and washington were the best presidents. actually, washington didn't do shit as president, all his big stuff came before he became president. and andrew jackson is the worst president, he ****ed this country over.

the stock market crash wasn't his fault. he gets a lot of heat because he was president during that time and he didn't get them out of the depression. let's face it though, not many people could have besides FDR.

Sk8 Shorty's
01-03-2008, 09:46 PM
Yeah I totally agree with you on that

But then again
alot of presidents get heat and blamed for stuff that's not always their fault, and face it... no matter what president we get, it'll most likely never be good enough for the people of this country.

Lets keep it recent bros. Yeah George washignton did great, but really how much does it matter now?
America is no longer the empire. An empire rises and while it reaches its thrown a small country is waiting, after 100 years that empire slides down the hill and the other country comes up top. The next empire is going to be big business not a country. Oil and fresh water will rule the planet. Wait for it pros.

Sk8 Shorty's

You can't keep it recent
history repeats itself.

How much does it matter now?
um alot, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln did alot of things and
changed alot of things.

Washington helped lead us to victory over the British, and Lincoln stood up, took responsibility, and took away slavery.

Like I was saying, it doesn't matter what president we have, cause' no matter what, the president that is elected will never be good enough for the people of the United States, and even this world.

FDR tried and tried to get us out of the great depression...but MOST of his efforts failed, or the long-term impact was only localized. it's just a coincidence that world war II fell during FDR's presidency, and WWII was the biggest factor in getting us (and the world) out of the great depression

We could make some history in this election

If Obama wins he'd obviously be the first non-Caucasian to have won the election.
If Hillary wins, obviously she'd be the first woman president.

and also..most people don't know this
but only 2 of the candidates (that I know of) are actual Governors or once were governors, the rest are Senators, and if one of these Senators wins, it would be the first time ever a Senator would have won the election.
Basically all the presidents we've ever had were the biggest leader of something, and/or a governor of a state.

Democrats vs Republicans? Why is there even a discussion here? Everyone and their mom knows that this election belongs to the Democrats. I myself am Democratic, but not far left by any means.

A lot of people vote on candidates strictly on the party they represent, which I think is total bullshit. That being said, I am voting for neither Hillary nor Obama. Hillary's got the experience, but I simply do not trust her at all. Obama seems like a nice guy, but I hate how everyone is jumpin on this Obama bandwagon and I will not support him either.

But man, I would love to see the faces of all those Southerners if Obama does win. ;)

Actually, i do. If you talk to an adult who knows what he's talking about, they will tell you that Clinton was horrible. He was the biggest fony for a president there ever was, same with Jimmy Carter. He was a liar, cheater, stealer, and just a twofaced douchebag. Don't elect any Liberals to become president. Why? Because they will run this country dry with giving out free shit to illegal immigrants. If you want someone decent, elect Ron Paul for 2008.
