I have been skateboarding for about 1 1/2 years, started as a trend (maybe I was a poseur), but now I know I'm not, I don't skate to get sponsored, to contest, or to do nasty tricks, but I skateboard for fun, even now that my friends don't do it. (They either got frustrated or broke an arm and now are too wimp to skate), and I want to learn how to do the kickflip. I don't want any of the normal trick tips like flip the board because I can already flip the board here is my problem: Either I:
a.) Go up flip the board and land retard foot (feet land on the ground on opposite sides of board)
b.) Go up flip it half around and land on it nearly breaking the board
c.) Go up and push it straight down
d.) Fall down
I need to know how to do a.) while landing on it, the videos don't seem to help. I watch my feet while I do it and feel totally stupid !WHY CANT I DO IT!. What can teach you to keep your feet on the board?

Because your scared.. Please dont say that you arent because you are.. just flick your foot off jump FORWARD and keep your shoulders straight. It took me about 1 year to learn but dont get frustrated

That's what all my friends told me like a year ago, and I still kinda believe it, but I don't feel it, it's like instinct. I maybe, but I try sooo hard not, the thing is when I kick my foot out to flip it (maybe I kick it out too far), I don't bring it back, or can't bring it back. BTW, how high do you have to ollie to kickflip about?

yah, keep your shoulders straight and paralell with the board. you don't need to be able to ollie very high at all. if you can't ollie high, you just have to flip the board faster. if you can ollie high, you don't have to flip it as fast, but it looks cooler in you catch the flip early.

anyway, what seems to help me flip it right is to watch my front foot as i flip it. just find a foot position that you find helps you flip it by dragging the tip of your toe up to the nose of the board and flick it with the top of your toe. imagine you're barefoot and you flick it with the top of your big toe.

if you seem to be landing in front ar behind or to the side or whatever of the board, jump in the direction that you're not going. it may seem like you'll never ever be able to land them smoothly, but trust me, if you practice enough you'll be kickflipping all over the place and little kids and adults will say, "wow! how'd he do that?"

practice is all it takes. when i saw everyone else land kickflips so easily i was determined to land them as smoothly as them, so i practiced litlerally nothing but kickflips for two weeks and i got them down pat to where i can do them now with my eyes closed.

Whoa crap, I busted my knee so bad, if it wasn't so gross, I would take a picture of it. I can't move it now, lol. I can not prefect my kickflip now :-( I almost got it tho!!!

Practice. All trick tips will not help you. You just gotta practice.

Work on Ollie Norths. It teaches you how to land that front foot on the board.

i've been skating for about a year now and i still have a weak kickflip. what you gotta concentrate on is not just flipping the board but ollieing up and then flipping the board. this was alway my main problem when i was learning to kickflip and it still kind of is.

Dont ollie higher...dont jump higher, the higher you jump and ollie the higher the board will come up to you as it flips. Simply give it a small flick and afterwards bring youre knees in, BOTH of them till there both directly over the board and smack it down. Put youre hands on like a couch arm rest and kickflip. Then put your weight on the couch and lift up and tuck youre knees in...youll see what I mean by bringing youre knees in
