Ok well here's some pics...http://www.planbskateboarding.com/blog/92/photos/
The Skateboard Mag said that there might be a vid clip coming.
What I find funny with the link I just gave is that the pics don't ever show him in the air. They just show pics of him getting ready and on the very top of the roll in haha.
EDIT: one of the captions to a pic;
Ryan and Danny at the top of the roll-in ready to go. In about a dozen tries Ryan managed to bridge the gap and joined Pat Duffy in the list of street skaters who have stepped up to the Mega Ramp. For the records that's a list of just two. Check the site soon for a video of the day's events.

Miami’s Joel Meinholz has turned pro for Rasa Libre. Walker Ryan has been officially welcomed to the Organika team. Original sound agent, Matt Rodriguez has made a return to Stereo skateboards where he’ll put in skate time along with Chris Pastras, Jason Lee and Chris Miller to hold it down for the agency’s Classic Division. Speaking of Pastras and Lee, they’re the newest recruits to put their feet forward with Dekline. In other footwear news, it has been announced that both Anthony Pappalardo and Alex Olson are no longer flared with Lakai.

Ultimate Becomes the New Extreme
Athletes, boarders, adrenalin junkies…whatever you want to call ‘em, these multi-sport individuals are gearing up for a contest of sorts that kicks off this Sunday dubbed as Ultimate Boarder. Skaters in the lineup amongst others competing for first place and $30 large are: Chris Senn, Aaron Astorga, Toad, Mike Rogers, Chad Shetler, Wally Inouye, Tosh Townend and Omar Hassan. If the Tomato stacks that cash there’s gonna be problems.
Distributing a Deathwish
After months of rumors and speculation, Erik Ellington and Jim Greco have launched Baker Boys Distribution (http://www.bakerboysdist.com/) to house and distribute their Brigada eyewear line and Deathwish skateboards. A full length Deathwish promo video featuring Erik Ellington, Jim Greco, Lizard King, Antwuan Dixon, Brian “Slash” Hansen, Ramiro “Furby” Salcedo and friends is due to drop sometime this summer.
More of the standings from "Spring Break Yo' Self"
Final Results

3. Jereme Rodgers
4. Shuriken Shannon
5. Adam Dyet
6. Garrett Hill

This record-breaking news was posted close to a week ago on Skate and Annoy (http://skateandannoy.com/?p=6014), and we wanted to share it with our readers. Apparently, on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Wisconsin’s 4 Seasons skatepark in Milwaukee, pint-sized teen Zach Kral flicked 1,200 kickflips in at row to set a new world record and win the first ever FUZE kickflip challenge (http://www.drinkfuze.com/fuzeevents/Detail.aspx?id=596). Hmmm…we can only surmise that the official title “kickflip challenge (http://kickflip.kruxtrucks.com/)” hadn’t been previously trademarked by Krux? They originally birthed this worldwide series of grass roots contests right?
Nonetheless, Zach shattered the previous record of 566 consecutive kickflips by more than double! Congrats!

We ran across this article on a California businessman pouring millions of dollars into developing a massive U.S. style amusement park in downtown Baghdad that will feature a skateboard park, rides, a concert theater and a museum. Wait, did they say a skate park? Yup, and it seems the skatepark will be the first attraction to open this July.
From the article:
“Parts for 200,000 skateboards and materials to build ramps will be shipped from the United States to Iraq for assembly at state-owned factories, and provided free to Iraqi children along with helmets and knee pads.
Mr. Werner also plans to import American instructors to teach Iraqi children how to skateboard. When the sport catches on, Mr. Werner will start to sell the boards, which bear the slogan “Ride Baghdad Skate Park” in hot-pink Arabic.”
We have to wonder who is making the boards? Will Andy Mac fly over to spread a drug free message of skating for freedom? Can kids stop getting shot at long enough to shred? Will Mr. Werner turn a profit and in the process make Iraq the next skateboarding “gold-mine?” Stay tuned.

Wow, Malto is such a lucky kid, Mike Mo and Alex Olson came out with great video parts in probably the greatest skate vid of the year and only now are they becoming pro. Sean Malto has only done the Transworld video. I mean I like Malto, I love him he is awesome but still.

One could take this as a joke, I could take this as a joke except for the fact that something like this appeared in ads for Malto and Olson as well. One things for sure, I WILL be buying all their first-pro decks to keep as sentimental value, regardless if they come out this year or 5 years from now.

LOL. Trance, don't sugar coat how you feel, for cryin' out loud. I LOVE Indys, and have broken my fair share of them in my earlier years, though. I do have to admit, I picked up some Thunders today in a style called 149ers for larger decks. Indys definitely turn killer with upgraded bushings. The stock ones are bogus, IMO

Adam's Released
"After more than two-and-a-half years behind bars, skate legend Jay Adams was released this morning, July 7, from the Federal Correctional Institution in Sheridan, Oregon. Bussed to Portland and flown to LAX, Jay will be living at a halfway home in Southern California. He’s also been offered a job as facilities manager at Hurley headquarters in Costa Mesa. For the time being, Jay says he’s going to stay put in Southern California. Probably a wise choice, since the frontier of Hawaii’s North Shore can make things tough for people who often find themselves surrounded by their personal demons.
In November 2005, Jay was arrested by federal agents at his North Shore home for his middleman role in a heavy-duty meth deal between California and Hawaii. For the back story, click here. Jay, who was on probation at the time, was facing a possible life sentence, but he turned his life around, got married, and was trying to do the right thing. Jay had to hand over yet another one of his 'Nine Lives' cards, and the judge gave him a light sentence, considering the circumstances.
According to his friends and family, if Jay blows it one more time, he’s going back to prison for the rest of his life. This much he eluded to in a letter I got from him a few months ago. He also reminded me of the first time we met in-person (when I flew to Hawaii in 2003 to interview him) and how that version of Jay Adams (the one who wouldn’t sit down for the interview until I cracked a beer and agreed to join him in consuming a batch of prescription painkillers) needed to vanish forever. If drug-addict Jay needs to go away so that today’s Jay can live on the outside with his family and friends, I can raise a cup to that. But his legacy as one of skateboarding’s most gifted natural talents (and all the good and bad that comes with the ride) will never be erased. Cheers to that, as well."

Sheckler Down, But Not Out
Sources in the news media have revealed that Ryan Sheckler has apparently broken his arm just four days prior to this week’s Maloof Money Cup (http://www.maloofmoneycup.com/)at the Orange County Fairgrounds. Despite the unfortunate injury, Shecks still intends to skate to the best of his ability for a chance at the largest-ever first place prize of $100,000.
Whether he will be able to swing a club for a scheduled charity golf event later this month remains in question.

For who that care; remember awhile back I posted a story of the South Bank in London was planned to be redeveloped?
Well turns out the plan was shot down and there will be no redevelopment and the South Bank is staying...
A huge success for the skateboarders of London and beyond occurred yesterday. The legendary South Bank has been saved due to the instrumental efforts of Toby Shuall and Winstan Whitter’s insightful film Save Southbank and the concentrated support of skateboarders around the world!
From the British Government’s official response: “The Southbank Center is an independent arts organization and decisions about the Undercroft are a matter for them. However, the Southbank Center recognizes the importance of the Undercroft in bringing together skateboarders from across the UK and the value that the skateboarding community has brought to many young people and the South Bank area itself. Any activity that engages and develops young people can have a very positive impact on society and the skateboarding community that has grown up around the Undercroft has brought together people from various backgrounds, created a vibrant public space and added real value to the lives of many young people.
The Southbank Center has said that it has no plans to redevelop the Undercroft used by skateboarders. In fact, they are in close discussions with the skateboarding community about how to improve the current skateboard area and about how the community might become more involved in the Southbank Center’s artistic program.”

Blueprint’s Paul Shier is the newest bloke to endorse Insight apparel and its clever team of riders. Chet Childress is no longer repping Australias Hoon wheels and now rides the fire. After years of setting the standards and pushing street skating’s progression for the females, Elissa Steamer continues to get gnarly and has been picked up by the swoosh. This is apparently what Duffel had to say:
"so i was at the maloof cup hanging out with my good friend walter, general manager of coors
he asked me if i would sign some stuff for some fans below the street course
ofcourse i would
i always kcik it with the homies.
..whle im looking down signign some stuff for the kids, out of no where i get pulled to the ground head first off a 5 foot drop.
a fall down and i get sucker punched 3 times.
the guy was beagle who hit me, it was the 2nd time he has sucker punched me.
a real coward he is.
the fight was broken up before i got a chance to do anything. it lasted about 10 seconds.
he sucker punched me while i was signing stuff for some kids.
real munson.
and the time before, i was getting out of a car he ran over and hit me.
once again in avery cowardly fashion. and i did not run from him.
i was not drunk like people say either.
i do not drink
theres the story behind that shit"
All rumors can be put to rest.

and finally, I know most of you have heard most or all of the Ali Boulala incident that ended up killing Shane Cross but just in case some of you don't know all of it and have been wondering where Ali is, read ahead;
On March 6, 2007, Boulala was the rider of a motorcycle in an accident that killed Flip Skateboards amateur Shane Cross. When Boulala arrived at a hospital, his injuries were too severe for him to be kept conscious and he was placed in a medically induced coma until his vital signs and health stabilized.
Cross's parents decided not to press charges; they only wanted Ali to resume a normal life.
Flip's website announced that Ali has now been upgraded to an out-patient. As of Sunday the 24th of June, Ali has been staying in his new apartment just around the corner from the hospital. He will be cared for by his girlfriend and will have doctor visits throughout the week. He will still be reporting to the hospital for physiotherapy three times a week. Ali is now walking completely unassisted and was last seen at a party with a bad limp.
In April 2008 Boulala pleaded guilty to one count of culpable driving. He was jailed for four years with a non-parole period of two years and disqualified from driving in Victoria for three years. The judge in the case mentioned that the long term injuries to Ali will act as punishment for the accident.
The accident was caused when he smashed into the wall of the Tramway Hotel on March 7, 2007. A rising superstar, Cross, 20, was a pillion passenger on the bike.
Boulala had a blood alcohol concentration of .162 and Cross, who died in hospital, had a blood alcohol level of .18. Neither of the men were wearing helmets. Boulala and Cross had earlier been at city nightspot the Cherry Bar. They then went to a friends house and drank beer. County Court Judge Sue Pullen said Boulala slammed into the hotel wall at an estimated 30km/h about 1.05am after doing two to three laps around the block.
Judge Pullen said the crash was a tragedy.
Before the crash, Cross was overheard twice telling Boulala he wanted to go for a ride on the motorbike. Boulala wouldn't let Cross go because he didn't have a helmet, Judge Pullen said.
"You were therefore aware of the potential ramifications," Judge Pullen said.
"You threw caution to the wind at a later stage on this evening."
Judge Pullen said Cross had his whole life to look forward to and his family had suffered enormously as a result of Boulala's conduct. Cross was regarded as one of Australia's most talented skateboarders. It is understood he had signed to star in a video game.
Boulala spent more than three months in hospital and suffered post-traumatic amnesia for 65 days. By the time he was discharged from hospital he was able to walk 200m without a walking aid.
He was likely to be permanent affected by the injuries he sustained, Judge Pullen said. There was a question mark over whether he would ever be able to get on a skateboard again, she said.
Judge Pullen said Boulala had a reduced range of movement, strength and co-ordination and suffered spasticity in his lower right leg. He still has trouble putting on his shoes and getting out of the shower.
Boulala, 29, has been living in Richmond with his Australian girlfriend since he was released from hospital. Boulala arrived in Australia in November, 2006, to film a skateboarding video.
Boulala and Cross, from the Gold Coast, were best mates and traveled the world skateboarding, Judge Pullen said.
"Prior to this offense you were a person of good character. You were also a role model, as was Shane Cross."
Boulala is now in jail, and is sentenced for 2-4 years because of Shane Cross' death. (Skateboard Magazine)

Take Back Your Backyard
Just prior to hosting record crowds at the Dew Tour stop in Salt Lake City, Utah this past weekend, the Salt Lake Valley Health Department has officially passed an ordinance to ban all ramps (present or future) on residential property. Their reason? Well, of course, Community Noise Pollution Control Regulation.
Apparently, a couple of city officials dropped by the home of skater Nick Hale just weeks after he’d re-layered his mini ramp with brand new Skatelite to inform him of his now-illegal structure. As a result, he has launched a new website, slcminiramp.com (http://slcminiramp.com/) to round up support against this very unfair and unjust ordinance.
Rodrigo TX has now officially become part of LRG Clothing.

The skating at this year’s Goofy Vs. Regular was so good, nobody won. Sound weird? Well, at the end of the finals, the judge’s scores for both teams were so close they couldn’t pick an official winner. And just any other predicament in life, there’s only one way to settle such a difference: with a game of SKATE.
The Goofies, with Justin Figueroa and Tyler Hendley representing the two-man team in the final game, picked the double set for the battle ground of choice, but ended up losing to the inhumanly talented Andrew Langi and Chris Cole putting the Regulars on top once again.
TEAM REGULAR:
1. Team MVP Chris Cole* – $17,000
2. Andrew Langi – $10,000
3. Julian Christianson* – $6,000

12. Steve Reeves – $1,000
13. Chris Mendes – $1,000
14. Adam Dyet – $1,000

A skateboarder who became part of a YouTube sensation when his confrontation with a Baltimore police officer was caught on video will be able to go forward with his lawsuit
against the officer.
A Baltimore judge ruled Eric Bush can continue with his case, even though he was late notifying the city of his intent to sue. The judge denied a motion to dismiss the case, saying Bush had shown good cause for missing the deadline.
Bush was 14 last year when he was stopped by Officer Salvatore Rivieri while skateboarding at the Inner Harbor. The video recorded by a friend shows the officer putting Bush in a headlock, pushing him to the ground and scolding Bush for calling him "dude."
The police department says Rivieri is still relieved from street duty.

Gatorade Welcomes Chaz Ortiz to the Team
CHICAGO, January 5, 2009 – The Gatorade Company, a division of PepsiCo, announced today the addition of 14-year-old skateboarder Chaz Ortiz to its elite team roster. This is Ortiz’s first beverage sponsorship deal.
“The support from Gatorade means a lot to me and I think it’s important for skateboarding too,” said Ortiz. “It’s a sweaty sport, and if you want to stay out there and keep skating, you have to be hydrated so it just makes sense for Gatorade to support skaters.”
Ortiz is one of the top young up-and-comers and took home several big wins in 2008, including the overall 2008 Dew Tour title in Skate Park, edging out three-time reigning champ Ryan Sheckler.
In addition to working with action sports athletes like Ortiz, snowboarder Ellery Hollingsworth, and BMX rider Nigel Sylvester, Gatorade also has plans to support professional and amateur action sports events in 2009 and will do more with parks and in films as well.
“We’re excited to take our presence in action sports to the next level,” said Kenny Mitchell, action sports team manager with Gatorade. “Many skaters are using our products already because they know Gatorade is what you reach for when you want to stay hydrated and fueled so you can session longer. We think tapping into this interest is a very authentic move for us as a brand.”
*from skateboarding.com
and from theskateboardmag.com about it:
Looks like Gatorade is going to give Red Bull, Monster and Mountain Dew a run for their money. Gatorade announced today the addition of Chaz Ortiz to their action sports team. Rumor has it that Chaz has signed a multi year contract with a six figure salary, not bad for a 14 year old kid. Looks like Chaz won’t need to hit up his parents for allowance anymore. With plans to sponsor skate events in 09 and add more riders to their team, it looks like we’ll be seeing a lot more from Gatorade in the future.

There will end up being some "special" skateboarding drink they'll come up with. Just like the tiger golf shit. Kid is raking in the bones with this one.

Yeah bucksaw you we're right.
I just didn't post it yesterday.
Here it is:
The brand also signed smaller deals with snowboarder Ellery Hollingsworth, a 17-year-old from Darien, Conn., and BMX star Nigel Sylvester, an 18-year-old from Queens, N.Y. The athletes will be featured in Gatorade’s action sports campaigns, which are being planned. Terms of those deals were not available.
EDIT: Other news...
If you thought $3,000 dollars was way too much for a bag or purse, guess how much Louis Vuitton is asking for theirlimited edition skateboard (http://broccolicity.wordpress.com/2009/01/06/louis-vuitton-x-stephen-sprouse-graffiti-skateboard/)? How about 8 G’s! We think it’s time for Louis Vuitton to concentrate on handbags and leave skateboarding alone.
