I'm using 66mm zigzags in this tutorial, to make the "outside" and "inside" easily discernible. The bearings are bones reds, and the trucks are bennett 4.3's. But, keep in mind
THIS METHOD WORKS WITH ALL WHEELS, BEARINGS, AND TRUCKS, INCLUDING REGULAR SKATEBOARD WHEELS/TRUCKS

Step one: put the speedring down on the axle, and place the first bearing seal-side down on top of the speedring

Step two: place the wheel with the label (or outside-facing side) down, on top of the bearing and press down...like so!

remove the wheel and newly pressed-in bearing for step three

Step three: place the second bearing seal-side down on the axle, then put the bearing spacer on top of it, so it looks like:

Step four: Place the wheel with the bearing in it on the axle, on top of the spacer and other bearing, and press down; securing the both bearings and the spacer into place:

Step five: place the second speedring on the axle, put the axle nut on, and tighten down all the way (to eliminate any play in the bearings and axle)

i should add that some people put an old bearing or a large washer down first, to press the new bearing on, so it spreads the load out on the inside AND the outside of the bearing, not just the inside like in my tutorial. putting all the stress on the inner race (the part of the bearing that touches the axle) will cause a teensy bit of damage to the bearing (we're talking microscopic here...), but doing any sort of ollie maneuver will do substantially more damage to the bearing. it's up to you, whether or not you put an old bearing or washer down first

Nice tutorial, I just wish I could use speed washers, but the only shop in my area (West 49) doesnt even know what speed washers are. Do you think you can make another one for removing bearings? I think that would really help people.

i could do that, i suppose...actually, i might do a step-by-step of putting a board together...think that would be a good idea?
