You gain steez with time.
Mainly, make sure you skate at a decent speed and never be too stiff or jumpy. Just be chill and flow, you'll get it.

Every time you do something you get a better sense of it.
Im sure when you first started walking you looked pretty funny, but now look your walking is mad steezy. Ibet you can even walk fakie!
So just skate more, it comes in time.

You practise and skate more. You don;t just get good style over night.

Relax, break down how you do your tricks and look at the little details. Find things you could change up. Experiment, have fun and don't try too hard.

Me and my mate kinda wanna start our own style of skating also.. call it the MiniRamp monster Children (lame much?) I watch skate video's like fully flared and really dont like their tricks. I feel like I'm someone completely different.
some of my fav tricks dont go with the style either; so I guess I have my "normal" tricks, and my monster child tricks. if we film a skate vid, right in the middle, we'd put a section of the normal shit people do, just to make contrast. its a good idea, no?

Sounds like it.
I've seen your type of skating, you remind me of Dollin for some reason?
Don't let people teach you exactly how they skate.
Learn everything yourself, that way your style will evolve with your skill.

Time and practice. Also, skating tranny will help you flow better and give you better style IMO.

ahahahahahahahahahaha, you already have your own style. its dumb to try and change it, cuz then you look fake. your style might change after a while, but its just something that you really cant control without looking super fake.

Yeah don't try to take on a cerain style...skat what you want, how you want.
What you prefer to skate and how you prefer to skate it becomes your style. The more you skate and the more your muscles develop in your legs then the clearer your style will become. Don't try to take on a certain because as said before you will just look fake.

Well said. You go skating, and your already employing your style, which will get fine tuned as you progress. You may have your favorite skaters due to their style, but in the end, if you were doing the exact same tricks they were doing on the exact terrain, you'd still be doing it with your own style.
Go skate and have some fun.

It is pretty much everything about how you skate you can be very clean or very sloppy... also what kind of tricks you like to do and are your tricks sketchy or not. Basically people say a good style is if you look really good when you skate and do tricks.

Im gonna have to disagree with the reverts part, I personally think reverts kill a line, I say if you come out of a trick switch do a switch trick to finish the line or do a switch trick that you can come out regular.

the more u skate, the deeper you go on a road, and the deeper u go there are more roads out there to follow, and u can take any road u like and going on that road requires time and patience. So just skate and u'll have ur own style in no time man
P.S And may I add it requires skill too. Lol

Style is the essence of how you skate. It's how you flow, the kind of tricks you do, and pretty much the emotions you feel while you're skating. If you're chill your style will be more chill but if you're mad it'll be more agressive. Another thing that I think helps style is what you're wearing sounds dumb but it's true. Long legs and tight pants can ruin your style. Same with baggy clothes if you don't look good in them. Another thing that affects your style would be music you listen to while you're skating. So basically, style is those little things you do that make you who you are personified on a skateboard and how you move while skating. I try to keep my style chill but some times it doesn't work out because I get mad at a trick or a line or something's bugging me but if you're chill while you're skating your style should look appealing to watch. Jusy do your thing ad fter time you'll develop your own style of skating. Sorry for the long post

^^ it was definately worth it. as for looking fake.. we're thinking of adopting idea's and artistic expression into our skating. its an idea, not our original style. kinda like a flower; we're bud's now, but we can be full grown and beautiful, ya know? (ghey!) I like Dustin Dollin the best. he doesnt fake his style, he's got this awesome Aussie gnar (http://fsnoseblunt.free.fr/skaters/Dustin_Dollin/Dustin_Dollin5.jpg), and talks more shit than me. And he thinks mad max is an awesome trilogy too!

Yea some of the style is done off the board as well, just how you act can come out in your skating. I've been skating for aboot 1 1/2 years now and really I spent lots of time working on tech stuff and Freestyle so my style is a lot more uptight and I get pretty mad when I don't land stuff after like 10 tries. but Style is just something that at first you don't notice and after a while you realize you always do a certain something, and then embrace it. For instance my thing that I've started doing is after I get out of a Ollie - Manual on something pretty long I tend to sink down and ride around holding onto my board Indy style. You just notice it after a while don't worry about it to much and just have fun!
