Ok, heres my advice to you man!
LEarn to ollie a little higher, and this is how you heelflip, put your back foot in the ollie position and your front foots toes hanging over the edge of the middle of your board. Ollie and slide your foot and kick off the more you slide then when you get to the front truck bolts kick off and the board will satrt to flip, then bring your legs up to your chest and watch the board flip when you see your grip tape coming around slam your feet down on the truck bolts bend ur knees and land and roll away!
Good lUck!

Yay! My specialty. I love heelflips. I love them, cause they're easy- ONCE you get them consistent. They're also kick ass when you catch them high. First of all, I would disagree to a point, that you have to learn to ollie higher. My friend can ollie only like 6"...but heelflip like 1-1/2 feet. Sometimes it may help though. One thing I do, is think like I'm trying to kick a guy in the nuts in front of me. Jump kick *DIRECTLY* forward. When you pop, you'll naturally slide your foot up. Also, hang your toes off....that may help as well, but I do not. I can nearly double heelflip over 1 deck with my position (No where near landing, but I can flip it)...and I don't hang my toes over the edge...but my position is weird. Mine is exactly like an ollie, except I point my toes towards the nose a bit more. Here is a pic of my position.
Also, I got a heelflip tip page up..which (might) help you understand more by looking at pictures. If you want to check it out, the URL is:

Also, when you bend down, don't bend down with your back. Keep your back straight, and just bend your legs. This will make sure that when you do flip it, the board will land perfectly under you, as long as you bent down right. Good luck again.
