any good recommendations? price not an issue (torrents).

so far, AVG 8.0 has given me too many problems (already installed it 3 times and got a virus). i don't like norton, i heard mcafee is kinda slow, and i know kasperki (or whatever it's called) will make this shitty 512MB RAM comp lag too much.

so far, i'm leaning to NOD32. any other ideas?

malwarebytes is a good anti malware program, and its free, and the full version is cheap

well, pretty much ANY malware you can think of it'll find, it doesnt eat up a whole lot of space, and it works on pretty much any computer

the only downside i can think of is that sometimes it can take up a lot of your cpu usage, but thats only if its constantly ran

Weird you're having problems with AVG. It's pretty good for me.

Uh you can try ZoneAlarm. I think it costs now but it's meant to be pretty good.

I used to use McAfee. DON'T BUY IT. That f**king program auto-charged me 100 dollars. When your subscription runs out, it rebuys itself. I didn't realize it until after, and it's a hassle to deal with McAfee support. On top of that, it slows your comp down. Most virus's disable it because it's so popular.

I use AVG 8.0 free edition, lavasoft Adaware 2007, Windows Defender, and Spybot Search and Destroy.

mccaffe is alright aslong as you get the right version, the one I have includes real-time scanning including torrent/p2p scanning, proxies, weekly scans/updates and alot more

This is what I do. I'll do the occasional scan but I am usually running my computer to the max when I am working on it so I can't afford to use any more resources on anything else.

AVG and Ad Aware is all you need.
