well a while back i was skating to a freinds house when out of nowhere some gangster pops out and is like hey let me see ur board i was like sure and gave it to him and he started busting varialkickflips, heelflips and getting crazy and shit i was like how did that happen and he was like asking where we skated and stuff. So i guess viva la gangster skaters and whats ur opinion on them?

i've got plenty of black friends, one of them was a guy that i liked.
I have friends who's brother's are in gangs, but not all gangs are bad.
I have fam/friends taht smoke and do drugs but i do not hate them, i just don't like their decisions.

Alright, for all you close minded little punks out there, heres a story. I was shooting photos down at south bank with the ganster skater who is always there. This guy looks like something right off the basketball court. He had his fubu jeans, nike shoes, wife beater, and even some chains hanging out. So I start taking some pics of this guy and setup for a shot on this up the bank to low rail he had been doing. He wasn't fully aware that I had setup there and went and did the higher rail about ten feet behind me. After he stomped the trick and noticed where I was setup, he came over and talked to me.

"Yo man, sorry about that. Didn't know you were setup over here. Here's what I'll do. First is a boardslide on this low rail, then I will wait for you and tell me when you are ready for me to rock fakie that rail over there"

I just smiled and Im like... Its cool man, I'll get setup.

I took my pics and even managed to get a couple more of him. He was one of the nicest guys and was totally stoked on having someone taking pics of him.

Since I haven't been able to board in a while (I was getting into it pretty good, went to the park for the first time in a while, and my board ends up stolen..so that sucks.)...I've been blading. I'm sure all you know I blade, but anyways, this IS on the subject. All the bladers at the local park have their pants half-way down their legs, wear their hat sideways, and talk shit non-stop. I know most of them, so I don't care, but I don't like to be thrown in the same group as them, so I avoid dressing like them. They're cool guys, but people see them, and don't respect them. I go to the park with some loose jeans, and a t-shirt....and my hat, and that's it. It's all in an effort to not be disrespected cause of the way I act, and stuff.

Racism..I think it's stupid. There are bad people out there, plain and simple. There's no one color. I'm pretty friendly, so I'm at the park, I talk to everyone, just cause the way I see it, why should I be nervous or something to talk to someone, because of a difference in skin color? This kid was boarding at the park with some of my old friends, and I started talking to him, and he was shocked that a Blader (he didn't know I board...), a white blader, to make it more shocking- was talking to a black skateobarder. We're cool though...we talk all the time now, so it's all good. If you saw him outside of the park, you'd probably think he was a drug dealer or something, but the dude is totally nice. Now, off of defending him and others like him, it IS their choice how they want to appear. If they want to come across as a drug dealer...it's natural people are going to think they are one. Just like if you wear an Element hat (such as mine......), then people are going to ***ume you skateboard...

Good example. Except the part about catagorizing people. I wasn't, I was pointing out that I, unlike some other people, can look past their outside impressions and judge them as a person, by their character and action, as opposed to their appearance and reputation. At my (old) school, everyone who first met me as$umed that I was a bullying rocker. Not true, I rarely get into fights, and I listen to almost everything, from blues, to alternative, to punk, to rap. Um, for all of you who think smoking marijuana makes you violent or chilled out need to get some things straight. It usually depends on the situation, but in general smoking cannabis puts you in a relaxed and sedated state. You enjoy your high and usually watch a movie or talk, etc. It's very very very hard to get someone who's high pissed off or violent. One of the main reasons would be if the person is already violent or has thoughts, and the marijuana amplifies it. The same goes for shrooms and acid, or any other physcoactives. It will bring things you don't even think about to life when triiping. But again, marijuana doesn't make you trip. It gives you a high, simple as that.
