I only just started snowboarding this year.
And I only went 3 times. So far I got the riding regularly down. But I can't seem to ride goofy. Any advise or suggestion?

I agree with Boarder 420. BUt before trying whole runs at a time, try going switch for about 20-30 feet at a time, and then when you've got that much down, work on longer distances. Don't expect too much after only 3 tries on the mountain. I've been riding about 4 years now, and just recently mastered landing tricks switch. It's tough, but practice is the only thing that will get you there. Start off on the flattest run you have on ur local mountain. And when you think you got it down, go to a more steeper, skillful run. That's what I did. Although I don't have it down perfect as well I as I ride normally, I'm much better for the hours upon hours a day I put into it. That's the best advice I can give man. Peace.

yeh thats the only way you will learn because everything switch will feel horrible like it does on a skateboard

Ya.....the best way to try to ride switch is to turn while being fakie, don't just downhill....cuz you wont get skills that way.....do some slalom.

Dude, if you've only ridden 3 times, don't even bother riding switch. Work on perfecting your normal riding first.

no man, you gotta practise riding goofy now cuz it will just be harder to learn once you get better at regular riding.

ya tihkal's right.... i waited for 2 years to try to prefect my fakie skills.... it took me alot longer than people who started riding fakie and normal.... but i only use my fakie skills in the park now....

Ok, do what ever stance is most comfortable. I don't snowboard, I skateboard, but I know about stances. The least comfortable stance is switch.

haha, i saw in an interview, that shaun white's mom made him ride switch to slow him down as a kid, and now he's extremely good at riding switch because of his mom! and he still goes fast! :-D i thought that was hilarious.

You shouldn't be riding Goofy, he's a Male Dog! Hit Minnie or something if you have to.

Well I think learning to get decent on way is better. You're just going to confuse yourself by trying to learn both at once and be like the people that go down the hill sideways and not get good at either. Perfect one, once you can go down and do well, do some jumps and other stuff then start learning switch.

yes, revived again!

i love it how people that don't snowboard or skate can try to help, when they are pointing out what the last 10 posts have said.

and switch on a skateboard doesnt feel horrible. i skate and snowboard, but mostly skate, and i can do some switch on a snowboard, but much better on a skateboard, and it is easier on a skateboard because you can just take your feet off.. silly goose!

i say get good regular first build up your confidence. then try riding goofy for about 30 feet or so and then take whole runs and stuff.

i was lucky riding goofy came easy for me. but snowboarding came quite naturally as a whole.
