Make the rail at a comfortable height. But, dont like do a full ollie with grinds unless the object is really high. For boardslides, do a little ollie but start turning your body before the ollie. It feels more like you slide onto the rail than ollie directly on it.

dude, if you have an adjustable rail, then make it as low as possible, and rember that if you do mess up, ur no higher than ur shins, or whatever. I started boardsliding by accident, so i dont have much help.

Well, Sum1Stupid&Ugly is right..... But some rails with the lowest setting on, your wheels hit the ground when you boardslide.

Is the rail square or round? Its much easier on a square rail, but I learned on a round grind rail.

i really hate it when you get wheel bite and fall off on boardslides and sam your shins into the rail ...if your scared of hitting your shins then wear a old pair of football shin pads to protect your shins

I just started by setting the rail next to a sidewalk and rolling up the rail on the sidewalk and slid into the gr***. It hurts less than concrete hehe.
