Band Names

well me and two mate are making a band but we cant really think of a name the only two we like are 'the yellow darts' and the 'black iris' and the main problem is we cant find a drummer

Man, it's no good asking everyone else for a name. You then have a name that means something- TO SOMEONE ELSE. What's the fun in having a name that means absolutely nothing to you, that someone else gave you? It sucks...

My band's name is Luck Zero...which originated from a talk I was having with the ex-bassist, about how bad our luck was. I said "I'm having ZERO luck...", he goes "yea man, my luck is pretty close to zero.". There was a little pause, and I was like "Zero luck..no...luck zero, how's that?". He liked it...and that's how it came about. It means something to me.

Just be patient, and the name will come along that is perfect for you, and means something...you don't need to be in a rush if you're just forming together. If you're ready to put an album out- then be worried.


As far as the drummer, don't flip either. You can still write plenty of songs without a drummer. A drummer will undoubtedly help bring it all together, but you can get your material written. We were without a name for probably 6+ months. I used the time without a drummer to write music. I got about 15 "almost" finished songs. All need maybe one week at most each to be finished. They're pretty good, too. Rec'ing a demo CD sometime during next spring break, if all goes as planned..

my freind is in a couple bands and the names are "perfect disorder" and the other is "only on the downstroke"
yeah, and then i told him he should make another band and name them "newspaper tradgedy"
