i got a zero for my first board and it worked out really well. lasted me 9 months. as for size id say get a 7.75. i know its just my opinion but i think 7.5 would be too hard to land anything as a beginner and over 7.75 would probably be too hard for you to flip. all that depends of course on your size as well. im about 5'9" 130

flips suck, they chip like chips ahoy. **** thats a bad anaology, buyt still, they suck. element, black label, santa cruz, popwar, lib tech, enjoi. theres no real beginer boards. but if u dont wanna spend money on somethign thats gonna get beat to hell (sicne u a noob) get a mini logo from powell or any other blank. just dont cheap out on the trucks.

I guess Ill fess up too, when I started, i had a X-games...

but now I have a world Industries, it sucks, but it's OK...good for beginners who aren't gonna tare up the board...

my board is all chipped, and cracked, but if you want a durable board, that is good for all groups, intermediate, newbie, and pro even...Element...

screw it, get an element...

Hey dont get a world Industries etc etc... I always say this but a blank is good, mainly cos its cheap and fairly good quality. but if u wanna get an Element like DJisInsane sed thats good too cos there quite nice boards. there also quite cheap too, well the oldies tho

Yeah Kid go for a 7.75 and as far as brands Baker, Element, Popwar, I hear Lib Techs are good and Blanks are perfectly fine to.
