i like skating more cuZ its more free, in snowing, you gott one set path really, u go where the mountain goes, and u cant hit the same thing twice on a run, unless u hike ur ass back up, and i dont know about you, but walking even on a slight grade when ur boots arelaced up tight is a *****, so i dont feel like walking up a 45degree (or steeper) grade.

Yeah but on a good park, if you're used to it, you can find a line with like 4-5 jumps, 3 rails and a funbox....plus if you just like one jump, you do it and walk back up...takes 30 seconds and you can do it again....and if you're lucky the park will have a t-bar and you can get on anytime you want...

i take it youve never been to british columbia then? you dont have one set path when youre snowboarding. its way more free and has more flow then skating. im talking riding down the face of a mountain...
the shit i ride in the backcountry is ****ing incredible man. im talking chutes, gullies, crazy waist deep powder fields. its ****ing nuts. i dont really do park riding. too icey. give me fresh pow anyday...
i dont know, im just down with riding more then skating. when im up on a mountain peak, i feel like god or something. the sparkling powder, the crisp, clean mountain air going into my lungs with every breath..then theres the ride down. yeah!

Damn right....xcept for that park thing...I don't agree parks are too icy...sure they are once or twice a year, when it hasnt snowed for a while...but since the mountains here a not that big, it's pretty rare to see an icy park.....But I have to agree that backcountry or any powder riding simply owns...

my second year snowboarding too, can't wait to get the the mountains, no parks or real backcountry here, but i still love the board, not much of a skater me, i stick to mountainboarding in the summer (check latest thread on gallery if u wanna see me on it), but still, nothing quite compares to snowboarding, so smooth an so fast, and oldscool, unlike u, i love snowboarding an if i have to get up the slope on foot i do, whatever it takes. hey, i travel over 100 km to get to the frickin' mountain, but it's all worth it when i step onto the board an almost kill myself slicing down the near vertical slopes.
that thing about snowboarding movies, very true, i did that last year an my grades dropped by two letters, untill i finally got to the snow.....i wish i lived in BC like banana, i myself am from the altidude of fort simpson an yellowknife, we get the same thing there, but unfortunately i have to wait 2 more years, till i leave this place, then i'm going to the alps, an i swear i'm gonna stay there till i ****in' die!

I have to drive 100km too, sometimes 200 if I wanna go to a huge mountain where the park is simply awesome....but every second in the car is worth it.
