Their new stuff isn't as poppy, it's experimental stuff... sounds quite good to me...

Well, I got the full CD. Its pretty good. Some of the songs are quite good, a couple I dont like that much, and some don't sound like anything they have ever made before.

The new CD sounds totally different from their previous stuff. Almost like a new band. "Feelin' this" is the only one I think that sounds remotely like their old stuff..the rest of the CD is original, and it sounds good.

Best example of that is "The Fallen Interlude" its like some instrumental and its got a good beat. I totally dig the new Blink 182 album, aswell as all their old material.

Haha, craig. If I could give you +2 points I would for that comment.
"The fallen interlude" is good for a while, I think, but I can't listen to it to many times. That voice gets really repetitive, to me. I like pretty much all of the songs. It DEFINENTLY is a CD you have to get used to- in a good way. At first, I didn't really know what I thought about the CD..then listened to it for a few days, came to like it.

you cant go on stage naked singing about tits farts and dirty twats and then expect epople to think your latest cd is all serious. shit. i liked blink somewhat if im in a hyped up mood, or when i wanna hear something funny, but theyre not a good band. skill wise, it takes nearly no talent to play their music. i cant play guitar, but i can play "stacy's mom'" and whats my age again

The boiled egg theory demonstrates this perfectly. You ask a group of people to stand a boiled egg on the top. None of them do (of course if they have heard it...or thought about before, they will). Finally, it comes around to someone, they crush one end in, and stand it on the now flat side. Everyone can do it now...
Blink's music is easy to play..but writing and composing music is two completely different things. I have written music that is perfectly easy to play, but some people would never consider certain writing techniques, until they see others. In short...try writing a blink song if it's so easy...anyone.
This goes for any other artist out there. You have to be very dedicated to get to the point of playing even on a steady basis, and not necessarily being a professional. Even the ones I "hate", I respect. Who am I to say how skilled they are? I'm not anyone special.
Look at Boxcar Racer. Tom went into Boxcar with Travis, to show a more serious side of himself, to express it. He has been playing on and off with projects like that for a long time, it's nothing new. The problem is, once you've created an image, it's hard, if not nearly impossible to change. When did Take off your pants and Jacket and Enema of the state come out? It's very possible Tom has had most of this material sitting around for a long time, and wanted to get it out. For all we know, Mark was against it...and finally went with the flow- thus the new sound. Judging a band on previous actions really is not fair. It is no different than hearing a new drummer play, and a year later, saying "no, he sucks because he used to be very bad at them...so that's all there is to it". I have yet to see reasonable evidence why this is any different.
