DC Video vs. Girl Video

I have this huge debate at school about which video is better so just to see that I'm not crazy somebody tell me that the Girl video is better than the DC Video! I mean Danny Way's part is great, and the Personal Security part is hella funny but overall skating wise don't you think Girl's video exceeds DC's?

Girl Yeah Right. DC is so much rehashed uninspired shite. Sure, Danny Way's a record breaker, and some of the skits like Rob's security guard are funny, but the skating is all contrived. Girl Yeah Right! was directed by Spike Jones. End of story.

Yeah right is much better. Better filming,angles,skating and skits. I mean come on,Marc Johnson has to be great. Making it look like he has no clothes on underneath his coat. Any video with Paul Rodriguez,Eric Koston,Marc Johnson,Rick McCrank,and Justin Eldridge in it has to be good.

theres no doubt danny way's part was revolutionary. but yeah right had a more creative feel to it. so yeah right is hella better in my opinion.

I fell asleep watching DC's really I did. Yeah Right kept me on my toes, the skating was over all better, everyone's part was awesome, so I'm going with Girl.

Yeah, your mate is an idiot. He could have ebay'd them for a lot more. As for directing a skate video... if you had seen Girl: Yeah Right, you would probably notice the numerous 35mm cameras around that were set on motion paths so the invisible boards section could be done. Someone needs to direct the crews and he was the guy to do it.

That's why you see all the lime green boards. They like do something with the paint in order to make it invisible.

erm its not quite that simple... i.e they send the footage off to computer geeks who take the boards out from the image and then render the areas underneath the feet to make it look realistic

It can be done in Adobe Premiere. The boards are the lime green because it is a colour that does not appear often in their surroundings. First... the skaters are filmed skating with the green boards... then the cameras exact movements are recorded by a computer and it refilms that exact path again. Now the skaters are on the top video track and the base is on the bottom video track. The green is chroma keyed out of the seen and anything that was the lime green colour will disappear and show through to the base layer which looks the same as where they were skating because it was filmed twice. Although I am sure they used much better systems than Premiere in the making of the video... most likely Avid or Media 100 systems.

changed ma mind again. Yeah right is just so much better. The keenan forever touches you. The ending credits show you just how much fun they had doing it.....the skating alright too.

i havent seen the DC video, but i just watched Yeah Rite! like 3 days ago and it was awesome, rock mccranks part is decent, so was P Rods, i didnt know he was such a good skater.

Now i cant wait to see a Plan B vid.. it will rock everyones sox!
