My nickname on the boards is "snowboarder"....so when I connect to the chat, it gives me the "snowboarder" nickname...and I want to keep it...but then the bot tells me:

--NickServ--This nick is owned by someone else. Please change your nickname
--NickServ--You now have 20 seconds to change your nickname. If you do not, I will change your nick for you. This is your final warning

Ramprage....could you tell me wtf is happening???!?!!

Ramprage chat connects to an IRC network. There are thousands of people connected chatting in different rooms using all kinds of nicknames. With IRC you can register a nickname on a server to make it your own. What Ramprage chat does is use your forum name by default to chat but if someone else on the network has already registered that name then it will tell you to change it.

I might be able to fix this problem by making Ramprage chat connect to a smaller server where less people are = less people will likely be using your nickname.

Until then you just have to bite the bullet and put up with the nickname is assigns you.

Ya,.,,but the nicname it assignes me is like "Guest4356"...

anywayz......if you can put the room on another server, it'll be cool....and since there are thousands of servers online, you can surely find one with almost no1 in or a server where you can't "own" a nickname.

Peace.

Yeah sorry guys, I think it's time to find a new chat server. I just tried to connect and it said the server was full! LOL

I still need to get a bot in the room though..
