back to topic, i dont care for them. what really irks me is that good charlotte's clothing line has brass knuckles splattered all over it. that's the main thing that irks me. maybe it has something to do with being part of the hardcore scene where knucks are a revered item or something, but that irks me.

I can't stand people who spend all their time saying "this band ispunk! this band is pop!", what the hell does it matter? If you like the sound, the genre of the music shouldn't matter. It's just plain gay to dwell on the genre of a group...geezus christ.

Someone mentioned the new blink. I got the new CD and it definently blows any preconceptions out of the water you may have about them. There's not really ANY songs on the CD that are even close to Enema of the State. There's no humor or anything on this one, either. It's matured both musically and lyrically. Some people just hate because "it's cool". I haven't seen many people in this thread have the balls to say they like any of the bands mentioned. You're telling me those albums sold EXTREMELY well, but NO ONE on here (one or two exceptions) listens to them? Total BS, if you ask me.

As for Good Charlotte, I think they're OK. I used to be a fan, but I just sort of got out of that. It's just because the same style almost got old to me. Read their article in Guitar world...says "We never said we were punk. We just play to play, we love music...and some people just don't understand that", or something along those lines.

I just pray if my music ever gets popular I won't have people like you trying to classify my music, and put me down because of a technicality. This is why they say a local fan base is better, because any other fan base will leave you with the blink of an eye. Perfect example.

I don't care what anyone says, but you cannot make it in the music business unless you have an absolute love for the music you're creating. You must realize these people love to make music, and to listen to it. Sure, the money is good, but you can't get rich by JUST wanting money- you've got to have that love for the music.
