well actually there is a relatively easy way,BUT expensive.
go to your local camera shop. or look online for one. and see prices for 16mm development. if they have this service, see if they will be able to put the film onto a minidv tape. note instead of paying for a new minidv tape give them one you have. then after they finish everything. get the tape and put it in a minidv camera. and there your done you can put it on. do you have a 16mm camera?
those things have expensive film

16mm cameras and video editing isnt worth it if you're not planning on doing some huge quality movies for a company...even a sponsor-me video shouldnt be on a 16mm...

snowboarder of course 16 mm is worth it and considering i have access to a 16 mil camera... i'm gonna use it, digital is really shitty sure its clean but i still hate it, it's unresponsive and bland you can do so much more with 16mm or super 8 and i'm almost guaranteed my money back on developing costs with video sales thanks bomdiggity thats probably what i'll do.

psh, you better start hoping now that you'll get your money back from production costs, telecine transfer...haha, that shit is SO expensive. I went to the place in atlanta that does alot of telecine transfer, the guy gets paid $250 PER HOUR just in labor, then there's charges per ft. of film you're getting transfered.

yea its 250 dollars for you... whoever that guy is, is ****ing you over mate i have just researched into it and i have found places that are willing to do it for under £35 per hour... and as i have a darkroom and can develop my own I don't think i'll be worrying about a few extra quid for telecene transfer too much when i can sell my vid for around 15 quid a time.

Wow... are you planning on making your whole video with 16mm stuff? If not, what is your other camera and who is your team if you are planning to sell the video for £15. Whos distributing it? Do you have all of the music rights?
Best advice my dad ever gave me in the business world - "Dont think of why it will make you money... think of why it will fail."

ok no not the whole vid... we have a vx 1000 and a gl1 also access to most cameras such as xm1/2 and vx 2000 etc (friends with son of guy who heads the local uni's film department) we are filming the utinni team and skateshops around kent have already asked to stock it after seeing our last one... the music is being done by a local band who are amazing which is suprising considering they are local

thats probably why its so expensive if you go to a run of the mill store that does 16 mm transfer it's probably not that expensive. Sorry to sound like i was having a go i wasnt clear enough on what stuff i had prepared

link me to where you're talking about, if its that cheap its probly not telecine, they probly just project the image onto a wall and use a video camera to capture it, and then color correct it.
