Im an ol skool newbee lookin for a new deck.
Im looking at between 7.5" to 8" wide maybe a bam him III but i cant find anywhere that tells u about how much concave each deck has, so can u tell me what decks u have n how much concave it has.
Ps
does this pop thing mean like how elastic/bouncy the board is?

Pop means how easy it is to (Gasp!) pop it up into the air. When you push your back (or front foot depending on what you are doing) down and jump it's how easy, clean, high it fgoes into the air. At least thats always what i have thought of it as

The concave depends on the mold of the deck. There is no real measurement for concave.

A thing that has struck me is in the late 80's early 90's most skate mags would review all new decks and also give photo's giving u a view of the concave or convex in the decks, plus i think there used to be a health and safety certificate that had to pass.
IE on this site an mainy others ive heard of decks lasting 1 month:eek: whereas in the 90's (before everyone rode freestyle type decks) my powell peralta lasted well over 12 months use, the least longest being around 6 months, This is jumping down upto 10 stairs and most of the time landing with my rear foot still on the kick tail, drop in's from garage roof tops and all the other silly stuff u do when ur young and carefree.
Nowadays its like theyve shaved the board down to allow for more pop/flex yet they last 2 seconds and getaway wif it.
I was watching extreme channel the other day saw a lad ollie down a set of 5's and when he landed the tail snapped! and that was a pro!!
Christ soz bout the wee book ive wrote:D
anyways

wee man - I'm an old schooler too and I think that the tricks now and the size of the decks have a lot to do with it. When we were ripping on those old Powells we had 10' wide trucks with 60+ mm wheels - really sucked up the impact. Now you have skinny decks w/smaller wheels and the tricks are much more technical.
Right now I'm riding 2-3 decks depending on what I'm skating. New school stuff rules the street but nothing beats an old 10 incher in the pools & on the ramps.
