today i decided to go up to some hills with my dad to do a bit of mountainboarding. it was great, we found some pretty long trails, i did a lot of powersliding an basically just screwing around with the board. nearer to the end of the day i decided to go down this trail which was leading back to the freeway. i started going down it and only after having reached about 30 kph (pretty f4ckin scary on a mountainboard!) i noticed that the road dipped about 2m down with HUGE rocks in the way. i almost crapped myself cause i had no room to powerslide to a stop (road was 2-3m wide). anyway, somehow i managed to avoid all the rocks an continued down the path the next 500m or so (it was great). after i stopped i grabbed the spoiler of our car an my dad pulled me (we wanted to find some more trails on the way back but couldn't be bothered to pack the board away, then take it out ,etc.) another 500m along the path going up hill of up to 10% incline in some places. finally we found this long straight road an i naturally let go of the car an started down that. unfortunately i gained speed momentarily an started an uncontrolled decent down the road. it was around the tme that i saw the boulders on the road that i thought 'crap, i'm screwed' so i knelt down an tried to powerslide to a stop (i was going about what felt like 50kph). i skidded for about 3 m with my board perpendicular to the way i was moving. all would've been well if i hadn't encountered a rock an hole in the road as i was skidding at which point i got thrown forwards landing on my hands an knees skidding about 2m more to a stop (snowboarders will know what it's like, when u get pushed over while stopping). good thing i had two layers of pants on an gloves otherwise i would've left my kneecaps on that road (it was solid clay with sharp stones an dust). now i have both legs hurting, i think i stretched the tendons on my knees. it hurts to walk an bend them. hope they get better by sunday, when we go up to the mountains. moral? wear protection unless u wanna break ur limbs a week before the start of the snow season an be left feeling totally screwed, watching snowboard videos on ur comp an feeling like committing suicide

btw. 40 khp is about as fast as, i at least, can go on my bike on a level road

anyway, board safe

dude....pain is fun for a while but only if you laugh it off...thats the best way to recover quickly, laugh about it.

the pain? it was funNY cause i kept on trying to joke it off, but the impact an pain were so intense i almost fainted. a bottle of good ol' home made ice tea kept my awareness though. but the hills was real fun BEFORE the crash
