just ordered a new setup to start riding again after coming off a pretty severe broken ankle i got attempting to hardflip a trashcan a while back. i wanted to get the usual stuff i ride, but for some reason couldnt find anything i liked from Girl, so i decided to try some new stuff.

deck - Habitat 'Mosaic' 7.62x31
wheels - Habitat 55mm w/ swiss bones 6
trucks - Royal 5.0

it should be here in a few days. just wondering what your guys' thoughts on habitat and royal are. the only decks i've skated for the past 6 years have been Girl, and the only trucks i've ridden have been ventures. also making a pretty odd change as i usually ride 58mm or bigger wheels, but have noticed a lot of friends have been riding smaller wheels lately for some reason (we all ride mostly street).

I like that Setup alot Royals are good I plan to get them next time I need new trucks. Bearings couldn't be better, big wheels but that my own opinion, and Habitats are alright.

i had to stop skating after my ankle injury almost a year ago, and everyone i knew was sporting 58mm or bigger wheels at the time... whats with everyone going smaller now?

I like 55's. I like the bigger wheels though. Even though Im a street skater... but yea. I like the feel of them better.

it's so that you get more air time to do these crazy new school flip tricks

small wheels pick up speed quicker
large wheels pick up speed slower but can go faster!

i perfer 50-53mm wheels

yeah 66's are huge.. those are like longboard wheels. i usually rode 58's or 59's.

^ vert guys tend to use larger wheels cause of more surface area...resulting i then going at a constant speed for a very long time which is good if you just want to cruise around town...

he has like this really old Rage deck, this fat kid broke my trucks (remember people?) and I put the rage trucks on and they are so heavy and stick out from the side of my board.

hmm. all i skate is all street, but lately its been alone because nobody out here really skates besides me and this other guy i know. i wont really be skatin with anyone 'good' until i move back to california. i wonder if i should try out something even smaller than these 55s and see how it feels.
