You'd probably be looking around £400-500 for a decent MiniDV camera (Try your best to get a MiniDv cam rather than than hi8/Digital 8 etc)
DO NOT EDIT FOOTAGE ON THE CAMERA. Film that shizz and then do all the editing on a computer, therefore you'll need some editing sortware.
Get the most expensive camera you can afford and preferably a MiniDV (Sony or Canon are best), but be absolutely sure it's got DV in/out as this is the easiest way to transfer the footy to the computer and then back to the camera. Also, if possible get one with 37mm filter threads, simply due to the fact that there are loads of cheap wide angled lenses availible in this size. (if you can't find 37mm it's not the end of the world as you can get step up/down rings to get the lens to fit). If you can afford to do so, get a wide angled lens, a Raynox 0.5X lens goes for about £50 so it's not too expensive.
Just ask the dude in the shop if in any doubt. Remember, DVin/out is vital.
Hope this helps...

or you could get a hi8 or a digital 8 if you want to be able to afford software. just get one of those analog hubs(i have never used them) ask craig i think he still films with digital8. but i rember he was always telling everyone about the hub he bought. yes make sure its 37mm threads. one you can get a century optics .3x 37mm fisheye. or you (if you got the bucks) could get a vx1000 or vx20000 or gl1 or gl2. i personaly have a vx1000 witch i am liking very much. vx1000 are in many different price ranges. ive seen them from 800-1400 usd. on ebay. vx2000 you can get at places such as bhphoto, tristate camera, adorama. ect.. they range from 1989-2000 something. (usd)
ive seen gl1s on ebay complete packages great packages. gl1 with all orginal stuff and century optics fisheye. that one was 1400. usd.(ebay) gl2s same thing as vx2000. i cant rember the price.(could be cause i never looked at one?) if you start with 37mm threaded camera. you can get a kenko .42x fisheye then goto shumways and read the articles on how to make it wider. you could get the raynox mx3000 pro fisheye. which is 149 usd on bhphoto. you can make that wider. there is a tutorial thingy on interlaced. if you need anymore help talk to me on aim foskco81

in the future (this is advice for anyone who reads this) If your going to ask a a question about something you want to get... Try telling us your price range and maybe specific things that you are planning to do with it... Just to make it easier on the res of us.
