Okay, first I don't think this is spamming, but if it is, delete the thread I don't mind.

Here's a simple flash game that is impossible to win if you don't see the mathematical concept behind it. http://www.ebaumsworld.com/pearl.shtml . There IS a way to win the game on both sides (if you start or if you let him start), but you really have to understand the math behind it. After a couples of tries I won it cuz that's actually what we were learning in math & programation before the christmas break...but it's hard. Think binary code (1=1, 2=10, 3=11, 4=100, etc) and you should be able to figure it out.

once out of a million tries, SNOWBOARDER, have u beaten it???

snowboarder

yeah since I now figured how it works I can beat it every time, on my or his start....

i beat it on his start

Technicly if the computer played right on his first move it would be impossible to win, but he makes a semi-random move first, so it's allways possible to beat him if ALL your moves are correct.

it was fun..but i really didnt understand the concept of it...how does it involve maths? ???

*spoiler alert*
Don't read this if you don't want to win every time:

Ok here's the concept...every number can be translated into binary. There is a mathematical formula to translate everyone of them, but since it's really complicated and you only need 1 to 6, we'll go the easy way.
1 in binary is 1.
2 is the closest number to 1 that you can make only with 1s and 0s, so it's 10.
3: same concept, closest number (higher than 10) only from 1s and 0s is 11.
4:100
5:101
6:110
etc...
Once you get that, you will have to sum the 4 rows in the game....11+100+101+110=322. To give him the final move, you want your last move to give him a single digit odd number (3 in this case). If he has 3 pearls on 3 different rows, he takes one away, you take the other one, he loses. You can also make him play when 2 rows have the same number of pearls (easiest way to do this is to come to a sum of 20, 22 or 200). If you want to make SURE you'll win without thinking, just make sure every move you make gives an EVEN number for each digit (212 isnt good, 202 or 222 are). So your first move would be deleting the entire 4-pearls row, making the total 222 (all even numbers). The move he will make will automaticly give at least one odd digit, cancel it by making all the digits even again. You will end with the 20,22 or 200 total in the end of the game, and you'll just have to corner him. I know this may seem really complicated, but read it twice and you'll understand it all.

snowboarder, I understand what you're saying completely, but I still can't seem to beat him. Oh, well, these mathmatics are a couple years ahead of me, so I'm not too upset about it.

^^good point...snowboarder, you are 17 right? (i think)...that means you're 4 years worth of mathmatics ahead of me so like i did the game once and im happy
