Ok everyone to help make this site rock I need your input. Send articles about stuff, stories, skate news, pictures, trick tips, whatever.
I'll collect the best articles and media and post them on the site. If you don't see that what you sent in hasn't been posted then it's because I didn't think it was valuable enough. So don't email me asking why it wasn't posted.
Email all you write ups, etc to
webmaster@ramprage.com
The best stuff will be posted giving credit to the authors.
P.S. Make sure it's you're article, not another sites because I won't accept it unless you ACTUALLY wrote it :p
Thanks for your input and making Ramprage a great community for skaters!

If its possible, in the beginner section you should have some streaming instructional vidz for tricks like an ollie, and kickflip, a heelflip, a pop shuv it, a 360 flip, a boardslide, and a 50-50.
Members could get out the digital cameras and shoot some videos of them doing it and then add a sound stream to it telling people what they are doing.

Yes that's been thought of already. Each clip has an instructional video clip as well as a still photo sequence of the trick.
Members can post their photo's in the Gallery if they want already.

First, I want to make a comment....although I'm not ramprage....
This site isn't his life, and he doesn't make money off it, so of course, it will take longer than someone who is at home all of the time (such as myself). You cannot imagine the complicated lines of code and endless hours of work that putting a site this large takes. I'm having plenty of fun on the forums right now...so when Ramprage finds the time to complete it, great. Until then, the worst thing is the pressure people are putting on him. My site is tiny compared to his, yet isn't even finished. I told people 'it's not done yet, but I guess I'll give you the address'. My site completely sucks, because it's full of 404 error pages...that are not completed. Would you rather ramprage put up part of the site, and slowly grow, or him hit us all with a big bang, and do a large amount at once?
If you chose not to read the above, Ramprage has a life outside of his computer. That includes education and work...I'm suprised he has had the site up for so long, while being so busy.

haha poor Bret (punkrock016), uh i just wanted to know if the site is going to be up before march, you people are too sensitive, and no body answered by question :(,
p.s: I wasn't saying something like this: Come on ramprage, it is the freakin end of march, why does your site say it will be ready by march, you should hurry it up..
noo i didnt say something like that, geez, i just want an answer when the site is going to be ready, lol
mooshoo
04-01-2002, 01:55 AM
oh yeah, dont rush ramprage, the reason is that your advertisment says it would be ready by march, so i just wanted to know if it was delayed
p.s: the ability to know HTML java dhtml, flash and etc... is VERY Good, i know a little of html :(
Ramprage
04-01-2002, 04:56 PM
Yes the site has been delayed once again. Using php, mysql, javascript and html together isn't an easy task. I think doing backflip 900s would be easier...
Anyway I'm doing the best I can with what free time I have. I'm pushing for a few weeks for the skateboard section, say April 15?
The rest of the site, well don't ask about it yet :p
Mrock
04-01-2002, 06:03 PM
No no...we're not to sensitive. We just don't want anymore pressure on ramprage, to finish. I mean, I got a site nothing compared to this like I said, and I struggled to get it up...and it's still not officially opened....but I just said 'screw it...'.
Nah, you can all blame punkrock for anything and everything, especially if your little sister gets pregnant. lol....Got a problem bret? IM me ya little bitc*...

I am willing to bet he saw some of those things somewhere on the web and said "Wow, I wish I could learn to do that." then he get some e-books and hard copy books and read about how to do it. Now, over time, he has learned more and more about the types of code and is able to link them all together.
Am I close Ramprage??;)

Sorta mike..
That's orginally what I thought about web sites, how do they work? Lead me to learning HTML and learning about the internet....
After spending far to much time with HTML I started playing with CGI scripts... little programs that make your site more functional.
That was hard to learn but I customized most of the ones I found.
Then I decided I like graphics, photography and other stuff so I started getting into making images and manipulating them and decided to take a Multimedia course in college.
We had a terrible database class that didn't show us anything but basic theory that no one understood, or not very well and didn't know how to apply it.
I took the next step and taught myself php and decided to put the database and php together.
Javascript was another course also but I've used it before.
Now after you learn the simple stuff you can get into the more funcional scripting and programming to make something really useful and unique. eg.... Ramprage
There is no way I could have gotten to where I am now without wanting to learn and constantly pushing myself. Today I spent 6 hours straight trying to get a php script to work in sync with a javascript drop down and I'm still not finished it. You have to be patient and not even think twice about spending your entire day and countless hours staring into a screen.....
I've got a whole collection of books from Dreamweaver to TCP/IP to PHP to design basics... hard copy. I don't like reading e-books, I spend enough time looking at the screen.
Yup I'm a big computer geek but I enjoy working with computers (most of the time LOL) but having a break is very nice to.
I think it's cool that I can link them all together now... you start to notice everything is linked... graphics programs all look the same, video editing, sound editing..... programming... all similar or related. Once you know one or two then you're on your way and you just can't look back! :D

ya no pressure ramprage..... you take soooo much time maintaining this site (with the mods) and you do it all for free! what a guy, haha, you are the most looked up to guy on this site (well, even besides the fact that you make it) making a site must take forever! so take your time, their is no rush, just chill and make it in your time period

Great post before me...I have my site, which is tiny..in the number of hits it gets (It STILL isn't 'officially' released). Many people rushed me..but no one understood, I work on the site when I am up to it, have time, and think I can put a good amount of work into it.
