i wanna get new camera to take skate vids with and i read posts about fisheyes, wide-angles...and i don't know what you guys are talking about...any tips on a cheap, affordable camera i can get that hooks up to my windows computer for editing?

my friend has a camera, but its not good...its like some sony thingy, but the resolution/zoom/angle or watever is really bad. you can't see enough of the skater when he tricks off a set if you're standing under the set...you have to be really far away...

the only thing i've noticed is that bigger lens mean a wider angle of taking watever you're taking. other than that i'm clueless so plz help me.

i would like something cheap enough, because im pretty poor right now...and i don't need super advanced crap cuz i've been skating for less than a year...but i'd like to start taking stuff...so would someone plz explain to me about these camera vocab that i don't get or give me tips on what kind of camera to buy?

oh yeah, i come from hong kong...i think you can pretty much get any sorta camera here...so plz help......thanks

oh yeah, i think i found the model of my friend's camera...
its either a Sony DCR TRV22 or SONY DCR TRV 14....or somethign along those lines....so i was just wondering...would it be good to upgrade that one, or to get a new one? would it be cheaper to just upgrade or what?....

Yeah... the model up from my camera. I also suppose you live in the UK. It's going to suck because your camera won't support DV-In if its like my TRV18e. Anyways... get yourself one of the following for a fisheye...

-Century Optics Ultra Wide Fisheye for 37mm. AKA - The Baby Death ($400 but worth it for the quality and build of it)
-Raynox QC-303 (£25, easy to replace, some vignetting and lack of sharpness in the corners)
-The Kenko Fisheye. Used once but I prefer my Raynox.

wait i think i got it after searching around....im NOT gonna get that century glass one, cuz its so frekaing expensive lol. butthen the Raynox one seems ok, and should be better compared to the kenko one?

so the raynox fisheye is snap on? its not lenses? so confused...
so if i snap this lil black circle around the lens i have now, the angle will go wider?...

The Raynox is a snap-on. You push in the two little side things and it adjusts the sides to fit on the front of your camera. With the Kenko, you will probably need to buy a step-up ring aswell as the kenko to make it fit the camera. Both fisheyes have their strong and weak points. Both are made of crappy glass and go soft in the corners. They both lack the build quality of the Century Optics one. The raynox and kenko are pretty much equal except that the raynox is a bit cheaper.

You just put it infront of the lens and your image will be magnified by either 0.3x with the raynox or 0.45x with the kenko. Therefore, the image will be wider.
