Yepperz! The video is going along well. It's just at about 40% done. Punkrock and I are doing lots of skating, hoping to get more footage. I myself, need TONS more footage...punkrock is loaded, lol. Anyways..I'm going to the skatepark wednesday, while everyone else is at school...so hopefully I'll have some footage. Peace..

That's looking good guys. I can't wait to see the finished product :D

Maybe you can provide some more details on it for us such as what type of video camera's were used, the input resolution, output res, how long the editing took and more. This will encourage other people to start making their own vids that for sure :D

Good work guys ;)

Shaddy, Andre, and I are working on a new video, but I wouldn't coutn on seeing it for awhile. We can only record on the weekends, and thats if they come over to my house, and the weather is nice.

Ramprage- great idea about telling em! First of all, it's gonna be a digitalized video...only a few minutes long...so not a full length video. We would make a nice long one, but the recording it takes for a good 30 minute video is unbelieveable! Punkrock and I don't live near each other...so we each go out when we got the time, we tape ourselves (or have someone do it for us)...and just mess around. Right now, we have no where near enough footage to finish. I estimated the footage needed, and we'd need *roughly* 40 tricks EACH, to complete the vid (that is, assuming each trick is 2 seconds or so). Anyways, here's some info:

Methods to tape it (this is me, I can't speak for punkrock, cause I am not sure of his equipment).

Videocamera: Standard RCA VHS Camcorder. This records using normal blank tapes that you have at home. This runs about $400..but now can be bought for much cheaper.

Means of getting it onto my computer: Video Capture card. I bought mine for $50 on ebay. You simply insert it into an open PCI slot in your computer. (ie: Your modem is in a PCI slot)...

Software: I use 3-4 different softwares. I use the first which is 'VidCap'...which is a popular tiny software, which uploads from my VCR, to the Card, to my computer.

Let me better explain:

1) Vidcap - for simply uploading
2) Animation shop 2 - For editing frame by frame, and lowering file size
3) Paintshop pro (only if I want to edit the colors, or such)
4) Adobe Premiere.

From the single file editing, I import it all into Adobe Premiere...add an audio track, and output. The total editing time so far, is roughly 3+ hours..give or take an hour..it's tough to estimate...I'd say more into the 5 hour range. Out of all the skating footage we've got, I'd say we MIGHT use aboue 5% of it...maybe up to 10%.

In my honest opinion, I think that this video will be NOTHING compared to the next video (It will be a team video, hopefully punkrock included)....since most of this footage is old, or VERY old. I'd say about 50%+ of this video is old...and maybe 40% is new...probably less. I think we'll each gather footage after this is over, and when we get a load, combine it again. I think I'll make a page on my website...on how to make/edit videos. Would anyone find that helpful?

Sorry for the long reply, but I think it was a good suggestion by Ramprage to explain it a bit more...

Korndawg- I saw that one video you made...that completely rocked. I don't really like all flatground stuff (since thats basically what I skate all the time, it gets old)....but you guys did some kick ass stuff with what you had. Cant wait for the next one!

yeah, it will be up for download. I don't ant to hype it up TO MUCH, considering it's not the best we could do as far as a video goes....so I hope people arent' disappointed.

I use the exact same stuff as Mrock, except i use a JVC camcorder that ran about $400. I use a capture cord and program...just like Mrock.

Adobe Premeire is a little advanced for users new to video editing so if you're just starting...i would recommend using something a little easier...i started off with a program called Videowave....it came with the capture cord and is EXTREMELY easy to use and really does a good job.

A good video editing website is www.digitalskate.net . They have good tutorials on using adobe premiere on there.

I use Videowave 4 for school projects and things like that such as one time when i did a St. Michael The Archangel(I go to a Catholic School, No im not a snob) video which was like 3 minutes long and had barely any information in it, but i only got a few points off because i added transitions, words on screen, intro, credits and all sorts of good stuff. im looking forward to using it when i can actually skate well.

oh yeah, and it only took me about 2 hours, without the instructions, to get pretty good at it. SO i'd reccomend it for anyone.

Blame me for the slowing down :(. I haven't had a chance to get much filming. I'm done with school for this year now, so I'll have plenty of time to film. I'm just hoping that time doesn't fly by!!!!
