I am looking to build a 2 ft mini ramp in my back yard. It would have to go in the yard itself and not the patio because it would overhang about a foot or so. After finally realizing that I must build it in the grass, my dad said no, that I would not be building one because it would kill the grass under the mini ramp due to lack of sunlight and water. Also, we have an automated sprinkler system so I would have to find a spot in the yard where the mini ramp would not be on a sprinkler.
Any Suggestions?

Yes it would kill the grass, that I know for sure...How big is your yard? If its pretty big ask your dad to give you the space you need like in the corner... Dig up the Grass and put some top soil plant some nice plants around the Pipe so your mommy and daddy would be happy, and just maybe he'll let you do it.

about the sprinklers, just cover the thing with a huge piece of plastic or tarp or whatever to keep it dry. you live in a yuppie neighborhood... dont you.. automated sprinklers gave me the idea. basement? maybe you could throw some quickcrete over in a spot in your yard, and put it there.

Whoa, all this hostility makes me want to cry. The kid asked for opinions on building a mini ramp, now why the hell does it have to turn into an argument?

right... right... lol... 2 foot is cheap and easier to build and if dad was going to let me build anything, it would have to be that lol. Friend's yards are smaller then mine and very NOT level. Once again... cant move out!!!! But maybe i can get it into the garage! Thnx man!

2 foot mini? like as in vert? or a micro. yeah i would say go with garage or basement, yeah it may be noisy n shit, but it will be skatable year round, and you wont have that eyesore of a tarp, or if you live in a yuppie neighborhood, that eyesore of a mini in your yard for your neighbors to complain about.
