Lately I have been thinking about how much money I get weekly from "work" and holidays n stuff. I also noticed my friend who lives about 5 mins out of town has plenty of land that his family just doesnt give a shit about. So I thought, "Man this would be a perfect place for a 6 or 8 ft... neighbors wouldnt complain cuz its not a full size... and I could skate all year." So I brought the subject up with my friend. He thought it was a great idea. So I made plans for a 6-8 ft where it would be 21 ft long and 24 ft wide. It would be cut into 3 segments. First, and 8 ft wide 6 ft tall segment. Then an 8 ft wide 8 ft tall segment. Then another 8 ft wide 6 ft tall segment. Completed with coping and all, I knew it would be expensive, but ALL of my friends thought it was great. We could save up for a year and build this, and skate year round. Anyone who didn't help pay wouldn't skate for free ($3 to skate :-1: ). Half of the proceeds would go to friend's mom for the land, and other half for us (we all need new boards :-10: ). So what do you guys think? Should we save up for an ENTIRE year, spend no money on anything else (cept for gas n clothes) just so we could skate all year? Tell me what you think, also, if you'd like, add little suggestions :-2: . Thnx.

same thing is going on for me. my buddy has a barn by his house, we are actually planning on building a small park in the upper floor. its actually strong enough its a huge barn, and its not old so not danger of collapse. the roof is about 20 feet high from the 2nd floor. his dad is putting windows in it, lights, so there is electricity. its wooden floors but the cracks between planks are very tiny, not like ones with curve-edged planks but flat n straight. there is only 1 unridable spot about 6 inches by 1 inch. its just a warp in a piece of wood. we are planning on building a mini, maybe a micro too, boxes, quarters, rails, ledges, other shit. weve got supplies, cash, and probably will have time this summer. we are trying to get started but the kid and his dad are really busy.

Yea man well I just found out that my friend's mom doesn't care about money or land or anything, it's if someone gets hurt while skating. I said, make parents sign wavers for their kids to skate so if they get hurt it's not your responsibility. She said, that doesn't hold up very well in court. So now im trying to find some land to buy which will cost a few bucks extra (heh... a few...) and if theres a law in this god damn town about this, it will need to be indoors! So now im ****ed unless I can find someone willing to maybe sponsor us and we might start a skate shop or somthing, I don't know. My plan right now is totally screwed so, any suggestions?

Build it anyway and make it off limits to everyone but you and your friends.

Don't worry about the damn profit, man..skate and have fun. I'd be perfectly happy if I had my own halfpipe/mini/personal "skatepark". You all should get some kind of small part time jobs, because it'd suck to save for nothing but that for a year. If you could just get like 15 hours a week working, you'd have plenty between you guys within a few months. But also, don't make it so you can't buy anything else..just maybe find more people interested who WILL pay, no one that'll bail out on you when it comes time to pay..

Waivers would hold up in court. If you get a property and build a small park or something, you could get kids to sign waivers, with maybe their parents co-signing, and have them pay a small door-fee, so you can make some $$$$.

yea i like zeronoah's idea. but yesterday another friend called and said he was buying a very large field and a paintball shop so we're trying to see if we can have a small section of the field for our vert. and also maybe turn the shop into a skate shop/paintball shop. would paintballs **** up the vert if it were hit by them?

I doubt it, but it might not be super safe. I would probably want that area someone sectioned off from the other stuff. Maybe even close to the shop itself, that way there is no shooting going on. Either way, I would use a good type of wood sealant, and clean it often if it does get paint on it, because that shit would be slick..

You are going to have to put up a net between a field and the ramp, if you plan on skating during operation hours. That is, unless you plan on wearing a mask while you skate. Nets for paintball are super-expensive.
If paint does break on the ramp it will suck, it will look like crap, be slippery until it dries, and suck when it does dry.

hmmm....... well no we're not rich but the one thats buyin the shit is lmao, we mooch off of him a lot. I was thinking about puting the ramp next to the building and setting a 50yd barrier between the shop and the playing field so noone is playing paintball close to the shop or ramp.

50yds of open field is still not very much, especially for the newbie trying to "carpet bomb".

of vert? thats kinda big, its like when someone tells you the dimensions of their ramps and they botch it up so bad like a 15 foot long ramp with 12 feet of vert, asking how high they get on the 3 foot trannys. its like anything above 4 or 5 feet of vert is kind of unheard of in a yard or whatever.

the best idea ever was in this dream i had.
i was sitting around (in my dfeam) and just sitting and being happy and then i thought "time machines cant have been invented in the future because they would be flying backwards and forth in the future and in the past (but because time doesnt exist for the time flying people they could have come back and fixed what ever they made) but at some point a crazy person would blow up the whole universe and because that is an ireversable problem that person couldnt have done that because we would all be dead by now (maybe we are and we havnt relised yet) therefore time machines cant be invented.
so i went and told someone this (still in my dream) and as i had finished saying this the people from the future came back in time and killed me and my friend, but in my dying moments i was thinking "how come they killed me now, like its gonna look suspicous, why not do it when i was in my mums tummy (cause in the future i had already said this so they should have already known about it before it ahd happened) so that means i had initially started the creation of a time machine...." and then i died.
.................................................. ......................
back in real life im trying to have that dream again so i can finish that thought. owell.
