hi all,
i didn't know which board to post this in since it technically isn't a trick...i just got a board and was curious how to turn? like should you be able to make a 90 degree turn or something?
i just started out and all i can kinda do is go sort of straight until i'm about to hit something...
i don't turn as much as i just kind of try to lean one way on the board.
i just wanted to add that right now, i just want to be able to have fun riding around my neighborhood and hanging out with my friends on their bikes...riding slowly of course...
thanks everyone

you lean. say you want to go right, lean right. you want to go left, lean left.
if you want to turn 90 degrees lean on the tail of your board and kinda swing your body in the direction you want to go.
.pie.

this would be in the trick help section
and like he said, lean, but when u make sharper turns, u can lift r board and pivot the wa u want to go.

Exactly the best way to turn is to lean, but if you have to turn sharper and faster, just lean back onto your back truck and swing the front in the direction you want to turn, thats called a kickturn.

Silly BakerStencil, that's called a kickturn. A powerslide is when you slide forward but the board is sideways with both sets of wheels on the ground. A kickturn is where you lift up on your front trucks, and kind of push on the tail so you can move the front trucks independent of the ground.

hi everyone,
first of all thanks for the replies.
where do you put your feet on the board? and how are they angled?
i use a regular stance and my front foot is over the trucks, angled a bit...and my back foot is behind the rear truck and kinda perpendicular to the board.
sorry for the stupid questions about something as simple as riding. i just feel like i'm doing it all wrong.
much thanks for the help

Yeah, it doesn't really matter where your feet go, if you're getting the job done, there ain't nothin' wrong with the way your feet are. Just keep shifting until you get comfortable.
