Hi all,

I am a new comer to boarding, never skateboarded as a kid (I am 51 now). Last year on a ski trip I tried snowboarding and was totally humiliated, but it looks like too much fun to give up on. I thought mountain boarding would be the way to learn some technique so I bought an Ambush Warrior from MBS. I am having fun with it (thank gosh for the brakes on it) and I am doing better than I anticipated. We live in an area with lots of hills and I have a half mile long mostly downhill dirt and gravel driveway.
Here are my questions:

What do you folks think of the board I bought?

Tire pressure?

Are there any specific mountainboard forums?

Are there any good web sites on mountainboard technique. I am mostly interested in carving, stopping and doing downhill runs. Don't anticipate much in the way of tricks or jumping.

I noticed when I pick up speed and am going straight downhill that the board starts to wobble. Is this normal? I tightened the trucks some and it seemed to help.

Any tips for the type of riding that I want to do.

I am also interested in buying a motorized off road board. We live near the desert and I would like to use it on some of the dirt roads down there. Have any of you had any experience with these. The one that I am looking at has a 43 cc engine chain driven with a brake. It has 9 inch by 3.5 inch tires so it sounds like it would fit the bill.

Thanks in advance for any help or replies.

Rich

Mountain boards are fun as. There was this special place tht done it where we went, and they had like beginners hills and all tht. U should look for one. I wouldnt think the wobbling is much, should be ok seeing as your going over different terrain quite fast.

Thanks for the replys!

I tightened up the trucks and it seemed to make it a little more stable. I have put on many miles of downhill now and I am getting better at turning.
How about stance?? Knees bent but body upright or knees bent and body at a crouch? I am mostly doing dirt and gravel roads with some pavement downhills thrown in. No interest in jumps or tricks, just trying to put together some nice turns, build up more speed and stopping.
