Xbox or Playstation 2?

I'm kinda stuck, i'm thinking of gettin a ps2 or xbox but i'm not sure wich to choose. could you guys help me out here

ps2 definetly xboxs can overheat and that blows, but u dont have to buy memory cards for xbox because it has a harddrive like a computer. the only reason u might consider an xbox is for halo, but its not worth it.

if you're stretched for money, get a ps2. but if you've got money to blow, buy an xbox, an EvoX chip and an additional harddrive. that way, you can just burn games onto the harddrive of the xbox when you rent them or borrow them from friends. ps2 the mod chips are MUCH harder to install, and the harddrive wont be out for atleast 6 months.

Id go with the X-box, thats my opinion, its a far more powerful system, but with a lower number of games, since PS2 also supports the regular PS1 games. But the Xbox requires no memory cards and you can play your own music while you are gaming. I think that Xbox will catch up the playstation and take over by 2005. As far as number of games, ps2. But quality of gaming (eg graphics) go with the xbox, the xbox also has a feature so when ur dog runs across and hits ur controller the whole system doesnt coming flying to the floor the controller well automatically disconnect and your system stays in one piece, get the xbox dude!

I just need to add that its way more beneficial to get the PS2 because when the PS3 comes out it will be the Best system around for a long time, I don't think Microsoft will be able to come out with a product to compete, anyway PS3 will be able to play PS 1 and PS2 games so if you get the PS 2 you'll already have games to play on your PS 3.

and i dont doubt that xbox2 will have backwards compatability, and i dont see it coming out for awhile. considering the graphics on it are still pertty damn good. and ps2 has had an awesome run but is due for an upgrade, it's been out since what, 99?

uhmm difficult choice but there's a chance a ps2 is coming into my home for free (with a mobile phone that my sister might get) i'll take that. As for the Xbox, I can always keep up saving money and see what games ar coming out for that.

it's lame releasing xbox2 so soon. there's not even gunna be that much a difference graphics wise in anything because the chip in it is basiucally the same in most gamers' computers. and the new graphics chips coming out wont be able to be used to their full potential for atleast a year or two when dual processors start coming out more. and i doubt that microsoft is gunna jame a dualprocessor in each new xbox

Because he will already have games to play on it. Also You can already get a PS3(Underground) but it will cost you an arm and a leg, like $800+ I heard.

question, is it possible to burn Xbox games and play them on your Xbox without tampering with the console like you have to do with the ps2?

and if that's possible what kinda disc would i have to burn it on?

No its not possible(Yet) the games are to incripted, same with PS2 thought they almost have a PS2 and Xbox Computer Emulator.

Well my dad got a phone that had a free Xbox with it and damn i'm happy with it. I think the controller of the Xbox is way better then the ps2, but then again it's kinda alike with my other console the gamecube. Oh well i'm really happy with it and for now i'm in love with my new powerful bit of technology :p

Xbox all the way man. It has some tight games coming up and it's great. Xbox has nice ties into PC Gaming, so that gives more options for games from PC to be on Xbox. Overheat and blow up? Only if you are retarded and keep it on the carpet or don't take care of it. I know lots of people with Xbox and they don't have that problem. If Halo is the only reason you would get it, it's still worth it if Halo was the only game out! I would reccomend you go to a Halo party or two before you make you decision. Xbox is powerful...oh yeah and anyone try Ninja Gaiden, that game frickin' rules, I don't know about the rest of you PS2 lovers, PS2 is good and all and has great games, but Xbox is my reccomendation.

i want to play ninja gaiden, but other than that and halo it stops there, plus, dont you like save onto an xbox hardrive or something, that would suck if your friend had an xbox with a game and better saves and unlockables and things, thats where id choose ps2 cause of that memory cards, plus its got good platformers and exclusiveness to the new grand theft auto game

The xbox can give you a great but smaller collection of games compared to ps2 but damn there's more than enough exclusive games out there, like all the rest of the xsn sport games and all the other online shooters or as Halo great singleplayer xperiences. Every console has its ups and downs but in my opinion the xbox beat the ps2 on the ups and luckily enough lacks the downs:p but thats my opinion:rolleyes:

i got a ps2 because it is really simple. no more than 20 buttons and there were better games for it. now im kinda wantin an xbox because you dont need a memory card, there cheaper than the ps2 where i live, and you can play your own music and store crap on the hardrive. and ps3 might not even come out til 2006 because psp (playstation portable) is coming out soon and it will have better graphics than ps2 and gameboy advance and is portable. one problem thoug. it will cost more than a ps2 and i need a new board.

Dude totally PS2 because Xbox is bulky and it has huge controller that only king kong could use and it has a hard drive witch has more memory than memory cards that PS2 uses but if you can't pry your hard drive out when you wana take it to your friends house...

You may have a lot of games, but with Xbox you get Live, don't have to buy memory cards, you have Halo/Halo 2, Fable, PGR2, Rainbow Six 3, CounterStrike, so many other things that are so great.

yeah, play DVDs with the CONTROLLER, which you need to buy in order to play them. ps2 fixes that problem.

but, if i had my choice it would be a modded xbox.

......i thought it was officialy proven that the xbox was more powerful then the cube...maybe the developers make better use of the gamecubes abilities and that the true power of the xbox isn't really used yet. cause the xbox really does h ave a better graphical chip inserted and has higher resolution...oh look, i'm argueing. but who cares i like cube, box and ps2
