This is in the correct section because I'm looking for comments on the photos themselves.. not the tricks.

It was at the local trails where some kids had told us a new jump was built. Seb and I went there and he got on this jump right away and started tricking it so I setup the photo gear and we had a good time.

All photos were shot as follows:
Nikon D100
Nikon 28-70mm f2.8 AFS
2 -Vivitar 285's (One handheld, one as a kicker with a lightslave)

ISO 400, White Balance: Cloudy -1, 1/160, f5 or f5.6.

i'd say the first one is the keeper of the bunch i think you could have put the slave half a stop down because on most of the pics he was popping a little too much other than that they are pretty sick

Yeah.. thanks for the tips muzz.

Excuse time: It was my first time shooting with both my Vivitars and I thought I had figured out my guide numbers of the flashes while I was indoors. Then I got out to the jumps and those guide numbers were completely off and were too high so all the shots were underexposed at first while I was shooting my tests. I had to just kind of wing the position and chimp on the back of the camera. Cheating.. but it got the job done.

Example... I tested one of my flashes indoors to have a guide number of 100... I got outside and with an f-stop of 5.6.. and I needed the flash to be about 10 feet away from the jump. That would leave me with a GN of 56 which is totally wrong. Oh well.. next investment is the fisheye or the flash meter because doing the math never works out quite right.

Thanks for the input none the less.

Nice pics, I like the set up. Could've used some different angles, though.
