well same old story... applied for a skatepark... a year later... "oh yea, ok we've got a basketball court that the heroin addicts barely even use anymore we'll set one up there..." so we're like "well it's better than nothing" and the council set up a "group" thing to get skaters input... a commendable effort so far...
so we go to the meetings and at every single one we'd drop a sly/blatantly ****ing obvious "we want either a concrete or wooden park" they would say "ok we'll see what we can do" which is adult for NO.
We kind of accepted the fact that well we were gonna get a piss poor plastic park like every other single park in our area but we would be ok cause we still had input in the layout...
and then the groms...****ing little kids who dont think in advance "no that rail's far too high"... yep it was lowered...now stands at a towering 4 inches off the ground woo... "that grind box is too big" so that goes and oooh we get a manual...great...they pretty much rebuilt the park for these little kids who are only gonna complain when they get too good to skate the rubbish thats there now
the reason im so pissed is coz now where-ever we go we're gonna get kicked out even quicker than usual and the gay-brigaders/ security wont cut us any slack because we've got this pile of rubbish....we used to just be able to go....oh theres nowhere else to skate and some of them would just go "oh ok carry on" but now... in there eyes we have got somewhere to go..... meh

Yeah our park is pretty Crappy so much room for improvement like some high low boxes or whatever but they won't put them in instead they put this square bar thats like 4 inches high for the little kids to work on.

Well.. my town apparently approved a skatepark.. they have £15,000 of the £80,000 they need. How nice. I doubt it's coming any time soon. If I were you I would move the plastic shit and just get you and your friends to pitch in some money together and build a solid wood funbox right in the middle of the park. That would be tight.

My area has a park, but the money and room ratios are far too messed up.

No park around me. It'd take at least a few hours to get to the closest one. Doesn't matter though.

yeah dude, its like andy mcdonald supporting prefab playground equipment ramps, its bullshit, did he learn what he does on that shit? hell naw. so why does he pick up a check to support it? no one will build a park here, the nearest one is about a 15 minute drive so we cant really get there its all highway so it would be too dangerous to skate there. none of us have our liscence quite yet, but that one even is shit, unsupervised and the locals are total dickheads, the nearest supervised and indoor nice park is about 45 minute drive, and the other nicer one has bikes too and the kids there are just assholes. we are trying at this time to get a gang of kids to go up to the 45 minute drive away one on friday since we have no school! we were origionally gonna have like 6 to 8 people or so, but no one knows who will drive us, so ive gotta try to get my dad to drive me and 3 others, and then some other kids to get their own rides so it will just be a big jam, no one will really be there cept us. should be fun if we get to go.

We used to have a park. All the local kids (I was to young at the time to build, but i was able to skate) built it on an old tenis quart. It was really big the size of 2 regualtion area's! They filled in the potholes and cleaned it and swept it. (using all theire own money for cement, and brooms), It lasted for like 2 1/2 summers before they took it out. It had 2 hips a quarter pipe like 5 fun boxes. Rails. From little to big. It had EVERYTHING for ANY age level. When they said we couldn't have it anymore they gave us time (like a week) to take it out. Then they threw away and burned everything else. The reason for this? No reason. They never put nets back up. It still sits there...Empty!
