What is the best wood to use for a box?

use a strong wood for support and a thin smooth woodboard for coating...varnish the coating for extra speed + smoothness

For the stuff you will be skating on, use masonite. For a base layer, use a thin, standard plywood, and for the supports, use presssure treated 2x4's. And use screws!! That will last you forever if you build it like that.

i would save the skatelite for pipes and stuff cuz its so expensive

use 3/4'' ply for sides and 1/2'' ply for top and use angle iron for side.
