Comcorder to PC help

Hello, Im new here. I have recently started recording a film. The problem is i don't know how to link my camcorder to the computor. I have been told I need a capture card.
But I can't find any sockets on my camcorder?!?!?! The camera is an old JVC- GR AX40. IT records onto those little tapes which then connect to a video tape. So please can some one tell me how my old camera cannects to the PC and were these sockets are?!

i got an old camera and i use the composite plugs that you use to plug the camera into the tv/vcr. i bought an external capture device which uses these composite plugs. good stuff :)

Yellow- video
White- audio

Now a friend said i need a analogue capture card (i got hi8). He said i can get basic ones for £40. Is this right or do i need something called Dazzle? I am really confused on how to link the camera to PC.

Dude its NOT THAT HARD. The dazzle provides an external port that goes from the USB drive on the computer and is a little box on the end. Then you plug the cables from your camera into the little box and press "Capture" on your computer.

Yes i have used dazzle and in fact came across my century old dazzle plugs a few hours ago .. dazzle is so easy to use of you cant use it .. i'd recommend not editing at all .. but then again i wanna see you gusy make good videos .. so instead of giving up keep trying and get yourself a capture card or get a Dazzle setup which runs really cheap .. and use that ...

yep, i have dazzle but avid, i have a problem. i dont get sound when i capture using dazzle. i only have two plugs a black one (Audio) and a yellow (Video) But do i need another plug for the sound??? Please PM me or something with the solution

yeh but it seems that dazzle is bumming up............ why dont you try emailing them mate? i am sure they will be more than happy to help u out
