Hey guys... this section was dying and I just got back from a week in Zermatt and Cervinia. There was a total of 4 and 1/2 feet of snow in the week I was there and it was in the beginning of april. I only have pics from the third day I was there when it was really sunny. The following days visibility was reduced to 10 feet or less and it was snowing a shitload. On the final day I was boarding on marked trails in the waist deep fluff. No complaints with that. Oh ya, my Ride Preston LX's... the ratchet on 3 of the 4 straps all broke on me while I was at -20 deg C in Saas Fee so I got them replaced while I was there. Scored a deal on a pair of Salomon SP3s. They have the FastFit system on the toe straps which I have really grown to love. They are great bindings for the cheap price.
Now for the media you have all been waiting for.
First up is the Matterhorn. You look at this thing the whole time you are shreddin if the visibility is good and its just amazing to see in person. A bunch of people have climbed it and died on it aswell.

Sequence of me on some rail. Unfortunatley its my dad shooting pictures so the motordrive started crackin too early and the D100 only has a 6 frame buffer so no landing. But I did land it clean. Just wait till the Nikon D70 comes to my hands... 144 consecutive images. Hell ya

No, I swear it isn't 50% photoshop. Well... atleast I made it look realistic in photoshop. Check out the dirty kink at the beginning of that rail.

very impressive pics mike, looks lke you're wearing a backpack on a few of them! doesn't nosesliding it snap the nose off cause snowboards dont look very thick/strong ???
mikejl29

Yeah I'm wearing a backpack in every shot. Thats where I keep the camera gear, food, diabetic stuff, tools, sunglasses and a beanie. Nosesliding on a snowboard is a bit different. Instead of on the nose you just slide over your front foot.

That's nice pics man...I just came back from Whistler (tonight) so I'll probably post pics too, unfortunatly I didnt take any pictures in the park but in 4 days, I progressed on rails more than in a whole season here in Qc. The park there is awesome, good snow even in april and the longest run we made was a 15km ride from top to bottom on Blackcomb.

Yeah Whistler absolutely rules in terms of rails. I heard Lake Louise is steppin up though to take over that. Ahh well.. the altitude really gets to you in the Swiss alps. I am not a fan of hiking up in the park that's for sure. Best run ever though is about 10 minutes if you tuck the entire way non-stop and you end up in Italy.. stop to have lunch.. then head back to Switzerland. Pretty sick stuff. The park could have used some work though. Blue Mountain actually has a decent one in Ontario, except you have to pay for a season pass to it and sign your life away.

Yeah they also do that in the Highest Level park in Whistler....15$ pass for the season and you have to sign discharges....but technicly they're still responsible and if you get hurt because the park is not well groomed and still open or anything that is their fault, they have to pay for it. Anyways that didnt happen :)

I believe Whistler and Blue Mountain are both owned by Intrawest.. so that would make some sense that they both have the same system. Only a tenner at Blue though.. possibly because it sucks more?

Yeah but still...tremblant is owned by Intrawest and you don't need to pay for a seasonal pass for the park....and it's one of the biggest in Canada.

Nah the rainbow rail was edited. I would have tried it because I did a similar one in Saas Fee except you can see the nasty kink at the beginning of the rail.

Theres a rainbow rain in there. I had a shit attempt on it. That was from my school trip to Saas Fee, Switzerland.
Don't mind the guys dressed as girls hitting on one of the snowboard instructors in the beginning. Also don't mind my friend Marc in the blue jacket or myself at the end of the flick. HAHA.. only Craig who had guys kissing him.

Damn mike you never told us you were a snowboard pimp. That rainbow rail is MASSIVE. How long did it take you to get enough guts to try it out, and a boardslide the first time? lol that thing is like 12 feet up.

mmm ramprage let me quote him on the insane rail's post: "Well... atleast I made it look realistic in photoshop". Even if I think this rail is possible to do, I doubt he did it :)

i really like your pics, they are clear and just nice. the sequence is very cool too. i think when they made that rainbow rail they slightly over did it, it looks impossible to slide.
