Thought I push this to the front of the line since there's been a bit of cam questions and purchase talk lately.

Good idea and I have a Hi8 like kicktheflip and you need a dazzle thing an a whole buncha crap. I think it would be better to geta new cam.

Do you realise the price difference between a new camera and dazzle?

Who here knows what CCD stands for ? :D and what size is the CCD in a DCR VX 2100 and what is the purpose of a CCD and what does it do for you and your camera ... hee hee i wanna see who knows this ... alot of people talk about CCD and either know the name of it and nothing about what it does .. or know nothing about it at all .. And don't go and look it up on the internet .. cause i'll be able to tell if you did ..

Charge coupled device: the VX2100 has 3CCD one CCD dedicated to Red, Blue, and Green... then they are interlaced or combined through an electric circuit...thus providing higher color reproduction. Also the more pixels da better.

Next time if ya wanna educate the bros...just put the info out there...no need to play stump the dummy or johnny on the spot.

and just to inform ya...I looked it up on the internet long ago bro. Read about in sum trade mags also.

I had no clue what CCD meant. But a couple of weeks ago when i was on howstuffworks.com i was reading about them. I was on there because I had to do a Powerpoint on Hybrid Cars.I can't tell you what all that means though. And if i did people would surely copy off me. Just kiddin.

dont digital 8s have 1394. and also digital 8s capture in the same codec as minidv. (dv25) digital 8 has about the same quality sound and picture as a minidv. so in reality minidv isnt everything you dont need minidv d8 is good also.

Sure if thats what ya got and are happy with it then good for you. My article is about minidv cams....if ya wanna put together the advantages of 8's then feel free...thats encougaged round here bro. I will be putting a little something together about sony coming out with its first HD...looks killer...looks like it will take the same fisheye that the vx2k and 2100...but im not certain...they havent released that info yet..maybe century can enlighting me..I'll check it.

it should say on the tape door. there's a little window so you can see if there's a tape in there, at the side on the window, it'll have one of 3 things;
8 - 8mm
Hi8 - hi8
D8 - Digital 8

Ok thanks guys...on the door it says VIDEO CAMERA RECORDER <----(arrow thing on it) And an 8 in a lil box. So I am guessing it is 8mm like sugar_muppet said. The model is a CCD-TRV21 NTSC. It is like at least 6 years old and my mom bought it for $850 from BestBuy for vacation.

most avid filmers either have vx1000.. vx2100 or a gl2. my opinion vx2100 works the best, has the best features and is more reliable in the long run

Too bad not many people on this site has that kinda money. I'm starting to save up for a VX2000. I would go 2100, but thats just more money to save up, there's brand new 2000's on eBay for cheap because the 2100 came out, and I heard that the 2100 is only a little better than the 2000, and it's only little convenient things. Well, I filmed a whole video with just Dazzle, a couple TRV series Sonys, and a Kenko fisheye, so I think the VX2000 will be a considerable step up, eh? ;)

my camera sucks so much balls. it has the yellow and white cables that plug into a television. ill type some stuff it says on it. Hitachi. 8mm Video Camera/Recorder. VM-E535LE. x16 optical zoom. PAL 8. and on the lense it says KING 46mm UV. what can yall tell me about all this crap

ecboarder
07-03-2004, 03:51 PM
what i can tell you about that..
1. hitachi-didn know they made cameras
2. pal 8 (i'm from US)
3. 46mm

damn homie

oh and the step up features from the vx2000 and vx2100
2100 has a record button on top. the handle has more space for grip. the white balance and AE settings are much easier to use. theres a few other things

snakeyes17
07-03-2004, 06:17 PM

dazzle is a USB external capture device. Your best bet would be to get a PCI capture card (cheaper, take up no space on desktop). However they do the same job.

I don't think i will be getting a digi camera. :(. too much money for a £4 a week pocket money. Oh well.
Good article though feaky.
