well if you dont want your whole video in fisheye then i suggest for the parts you want to use a fisheye then screw on a fisheye and for the times you dont want to use a fisheye .. ...... Don't in other words unscrew it form the lens thread off your camera ... Lenses dont get permanently atteched to your camera .. for my personal filming i use a Sony Trv39 Mini DV with a Century optics 0.3 baby death Lens .. and i also own the bigger version of that exact setup which is a Sony PD-150 and a century optics Death lens ... if you want a fisheye but not so death lens like .. get a lower .point on your fisheye .. i recommend a Kenko .70 Fisheye .. those are nice and are only 70 buck us dollars

ok , well then i recommend buying a wide angle lens .. thats your only alternative between regualr non fisheye view and a fisheye look ... wide angle is like a extremly watered down version of a fisheye and all it does is usually widen your view by about 30 -40 percent ..

anything priced below 100 bucks is crap .. you get what you pay for .. just remeber that .. but if you dont have alot of money then thats your only alternative

If you are shooting for yourself go for a Raynox or Kenko. If you are attempting to shoot for 411 or a skate video, you are going to want a 3 chip camera with century glass, no questions about it. With that said, I shoot with a TRV-18 and a Raynox 0.3x snap-on fisheye which shoots what I need it to.

you say Snap - on Fisheye ? does it just snap on regardless of the thread on the camera ?

i highly doubt that the filter thread on your camera is 43.2mm or whatever. around the lens, it should have a little symbol, looks like an O with a \ through it, then it'll have a number after it, usually 27, 30.5, 37, 46, 52 or 58. find out, because you can only use the Raynox snap on with camera with a filter thread between 27 and 37mm. otherwise you have to buy something a bit more expensive.

Well, the Raynox Clip on will fit. you might get some vignetting (black corners, usually not that bad) but it will do. The good thing about the Raynox, is that if it gets hit, it will fall off, unlike the death or something else like that, which would probably rip off the front of the camera.

With the death lens on the PD-150....is your mic in the shot? or did u use a different mic and if u did what did you use..b/c i heard death lenses will show the mic with the PD-150
PD-150s are soo sick i love em...god i need a fisheye.............:4

As far as i know, you can't take the mic off the PD-150, because it's more of an independant film makers camera. if you could get a fisheye to fit it, you'd have the mic in, almost definatly.
Oh, i know AVID is banned, but forget what he said about the kenko .70 fisheye lens, there's no such thing. It's a 0.43x fisheye.
