Definatly get the thinner one. It's such a small difference that when you stand on it, you'll barely notice. But, when you flip your board, there'll be a pretty big difference. What kind are you getting? AWS?

yeah yuddi, i'm getting an AWS. but the problem with getting a deck that's 7.5" wide is getting trux the same size. they don't have GK's, ventures, or any other good truck company that make a 7.5" wide truck, at least none that i know of.

My first deck was 8", now it's 7 7/8". I need wide boards because I have big feet, size 12 shoes.

I got size 10 1/2...but my next deck is going to be 7.3 (AWS...as much as I hate em...I am dying for a thin deck). Why? I learned to ollie on like a 8.25" walmart board..went to a 7.65 AWS (my first non-walmart board)...then to 7.75" element. I saw this dude at the skatepark riding a 7.3...and MAN those things are tiny! He gave me a try at it, and I totally loved it. The landings have to be pretty precision on em...so I might even go 7.5". For ramps, I like a wider board, like 8".

eh- that's overated. Personnally, I don't give a crap about my truck width. We're talking fractions of an inch here. That's what I think, anyway.

Fractions of an inch don't seem like much with trucks, but give me an 8" board...and a 7.75" board, I'll pick the difference easily....but yes...you are right about truck width.
