try placing your back foot, with your toes in the concave on the heel side of your board...thats the foot that you should be popping the shuv with...
as for your front foot, place it higher up on your board with your toes overhanging

Pop it good, and just flip it as a heelflip, and scoop with yoru backfoot.
In my opinion, most of this trick is in the pop.

I had the same problem as you my friend, and I would get enraged at that fact that it was the only flip trick that I simply couldn't do.

I finally got them though, and this is what I learned.

Like Sham Skater said, keep your back foots tippy toes on the heelside of the tail, this will make it so that when you pop your board in the FS shove it direction it will help it rotate easier.

Now the trick is, that both of your feet have to go in the same direction in order for it to work.

1. Start by popping your back foot in that position that I told you about, pop it so that its going in the FS shove it motion.

2. You want your front foot to have the heel in the middle of the board with your toes - to half of your foot hanging off.

Alot of mistakes one makes with Varial Heels is that they flip their heels and move them backwards to get the fs shove it to work, you DONT do this. Send your heel straight out up to the board like a regular heelflip, this will make your board flip perfectly.

And if your board seems to end up behind you, try jumping backwards as you ollie, this will help.

Well, I hope I helped, and hang in there man, the trick will come to you eventually, you cant magically gain a trick just by wanting it, work for it man.
