Do you guys wear a helmet when you snowboard.....
Since 3 years ago, I didn't, but then, when I started going in parks all the time, I decided it would be better to use one...and since I've got it, it saved my life like 6-7 times.

I think helmets are a good idea. There are new ones out now that look sylish, are warm, and keep your brain from splattering on the snow. Peace.

That's what I was thinking, but your head can't be hard enough to protect you when you fall on ice. You never ever know when I could happen....not joking.

i only go snowboarding once a year, but i think snowboarding with a helmet is a good idea cuz i was going really fast down this blue run and it was really icy that dat and i turning my board to ride switch(i find it fun to do little jumps from the trees switch), and i it and edge and flipped 2 or 3 times and slide across the snow, there was blood all over the snow and that was only from two busted lips and a really scrapped up side(of my face), it could've been a lot worse if i hadn't been whering a helmet

If you ride lots of park and pipe then a helmet is a must but if you're in powder and big mountain then I don't think it's as important because the chances or you cracking your head open on powder are slim.

Some parks are making it mandatory to wear a helmet, which is a good idea but stupid for smaller resorts because there park sucks anyway.

Well....there are some resorts that ask for helmet...but they force you to use one only if you do flips.

well, i go in the parks alot, but i go through the trees(with my dad,he's a skier, but he's cool and respects the boarders) and the back mountain, powder, i just mix it up.but i do this in a time span of 5-7 days, cuz i only go to the Rocky's once a year:(

It depends what you're trying to do, if you are going for flips and long spins and corkscrews then you need a helmet. But if you're just snowboarding on powder or doing a few grabs then it isn't essential.

Yup, but you never know when you're gonna lose balance. I was with a friend yesterday, and he was telling me like "man helmets are useless...I hate it when my parents force me to put that on", then we went to the park, and he only tried a simple stalefish, lost balance and fell on his back and then on his head. Trust me, without his helmet, he'd be dead by now.

I prefer riding without a helmet. That way if I have a serious crash, there is a betterchance I'll be knocked unconcious. I don't want to have to feel the crash untill I've already got painkillers working for me.

If you guy a good elmet, it's gonna be comfortable too, but when you fall badly by not landing a jump correctly, well you'll be happy to have one.

There's something much more important than a helmet. Have any of you guys seen the online advertisements for but gear. It's a but pad that goes under your pants. I bought one of those this season. It's saved my ass more times then I can count.

Ya well no offence, but I think the brain's more important than the butt to live.

I agree, the brain is more important for living, but butt injuries are much more common. I've never seriously hurt my head, but have had tons of serious tailbone injuries.

Good idea....you'll see, with a helmet, you'll get more confidence in yourself, and you'll try spins and tricks that you didn't have the guts to try without it.
